Put. Coolant. In.
There is no such thing as a 2002 Cherokee Laredo. The last year for the Cherokee was 2001, and the last year it came with the Laredo trim was 1992. I have a 2003 Cherokee Laredo so this awnser makes no sense at all. Do you have a GRAND Cherokee Laredo? Those are still being made. They are not the same as the Cherokee.
When my jeep cherokee alternator went bad, the check engine light came on and I didnt have a clue what was going on until my volt guage was reading in the red zone. When I replaced my alternator, the light went off. So in my opinion i wouldnt consider the check engine light as a alternator light.
An Aisin/Warner AW4. Made by Toyota. Variants of this tranny are used in Landcruisers, Lexus, Supras.
If the check engine line is flashing then that means there is a real problem and you should have it looked at, But if the light is on and NOT flashing the it is most likely a problem with the emmisions system and most likely an oxygen sensor.
Most Indians had a different religion including Cherokee. The theory that Native Americans came from the Ten Israelite Tribes is a fanciful myth, nothing more.
make sure your fluid level is where it's supposed to be.
The Check Engine Light has come on because the computer has detected a problem with the emissions system. It has nothing to do with the coolant. Take it to a trusted professional and he will scan the computer with an OBD2 scan tool. He will use the fault code as a guide to determine what the problem is. also if you had recently messed with the engine as in unplug something and turned the car on the the light will be on for a few days but eventully turn off
Your coolant level is low.
Mine came on to tell me that the coolant was low. check that. Remember to use the right kind of coolant and don't mix different kinds.

it sounds like your primary coolant fan has quit and when you turn your A/C on it causes your secondary coolant fan to turn on and then cools the coolant in your radiator!
most likely the sensor in the bottom of the coolant reservoir is gone change reservoirs then see
When it ran low on coolant, the head overheated and warped. Now you have hot exhaust gasses venting directly into the engine's coolant system through the damaged head gasket that gave up when the head warped. You'll need to have the head resurfaced. That means, pulling the head(s) and everthing that is in the way. If there are very many miles, you may as well do the valves and guides while you've got the head(s) off.
There is a sensor that is in the overflow bottle that may be bad causing the "low coolant light" to illuminate. The coolant level switch is located on the bottom side of the coolant tank. The switch contains a reed switch and a magnetic float. When the coolant level is normal, the float rests away from the reed switch, causing the switch to be open. When the coolant level decreases in the coolant recovery tank below a specified level, the float rests on the reed switch and the switch closes, illuminating the LOW COOLANT light. The coolant level switch is a part of the coolant tank. If the switch needs to be replaced, the coolant tank must be replaced.
The name Tennessee came from the Cherokee village Tanasi.
fill the radiator to the top with 50/50 water and antafrezz
The Cherokee came here because it wanted you.
