It truly depends on what each model is exactly, and how much mudding you do. For instance, if you compare a Chevrolet Silverado with a Ford F-250, they are both very similar.

The Chevy will most likely have a better 4WD system, and is capable of unbelievable low-end torque. The Ford, not so much.

But the Ford will also generally have better ground clearance.

If either one is modified, take that into consideration. That usually helps.

Youtube some videos on each and see what you get, then decide for yourself.

Chevy trucks did not use a RESET switch on there fuel pumps. You either have a bad fuel pump relay are fuse, It may be that the fuel pump has just quite. You did not say what year it was and I do no that Chevy had a problem with the wireing harness / connecter on the top of the fuel tank that would cause the pump to quite.

you didn't say what year so I'm going to assume it's one of the later models. Open the hood and stand directly over the headlight. You will see two L shaped pins. You can only see the top of the pin but trust me it is L shaped. Pull it up on both sides and voila. you have removed the old one.

Yes. You will need to change the motor mounts and do some exhaust work and install a bigger radiator. But a direct bolt in NO.

It has 1 fuel filter up in the drivers side frame rail behind the cab. You will have to slid in under the truck to see it.

350 and under are small blocks. There is also a 400 small block but there is a 400 large block. 396 and up are big blocks.

NO. That stuff will cause you more problems. You MUST replace the intake gaskets are you will wind up loosing the whole engine. OIL and engine coolant DON'T MIX.

Many vehicles are like that when its cold its hard to start

#1 check your car battery pop the covers on it and check the cell chainbers and see if there is enough acid inside if not get some from any auto store and top off your battery acid fluid. Like 12$

#2 Your battery might be low on cranking amps. If you dont want this issue and if it was not a #1 issue then you might want to get a battery with bigger cranking amps for the winters.

Pay someone, would be my advise. You pretty much have to pull most of the dash out. It is up under there, kind of behind the radio, which has to come out, along with the glove box, and I think the radio speakers, too. You pretty much have to work, standing on your head, with a flashlight in your mouth. Having said all of that, companies like Danchuk, and Year 1, will have actual diagrams, as well as the parts you will need, often. I think they make an electric upgrade kit, for the tri 5 Chevies. The original vaccuum system is not very good, and, requires attention, often. Unless this some rare convertible, or a concours type restoration, the electric upgrade will on increase the value of the car, and is a safety issue to consider, depending upon where you live.
