This is usually caused by a weak or blown head gasket. As the piston compresses the air/fuel mixture some of that compressed mixture is forced past the head gasket and enters the coolant system. This causes the bubbles you are seeing. I've had this happen in the past with a 3.8 Buick.

Blocked fuel (diesel) filter; (try this first). If it is not the filter then it could be some thing more serious example; lift pump, injectors .......................

You probably have something like a work truck model, or one of the lower end models (such as the Cheyenne), rather than the Silverado. The single square headlight was still an option (and a less expensive one), and is commonly seen on fleet vehicles, service trucks, US government vehicles, etc.

Isn't the bubble top chevy's like the one's from the 50's 60's 40' also. The best description I can think of that everyone knows is the Old Navy Pickup truck, that to me has that rounded, bubble top cab, rounded edging around the bed and tailgate. And I will only mention that Matte blue, and oversized big round headlights and grill because I love that style of truck.... so cool....

Before 2004 Chevy put the fuel filter on the drivers side frame rail. After that year it was put inside of the fuel tank.

Yes it is a single point fuel injection system. What appears to be a carburetor is in reality a throttle body housing for the injector located inside. If you remove the air filter and look down the throat you will see the injector.

Either you have a leak, or, the carb is flooding over, which is common. Older cars like that do not have a pressure return hose, so, when things get hooter under the hood, as they do upon shut off, the expanding gas relieves pressure, at ther weakest point, the needle and seat in the carb, then it overflows into the motor. Make sure the motor is idling before you shut it off, and open the hood, either all the way, or halfway, after you shut it off. This will allow some heat to escape, thus reducing pressure on the line. A carb rebuild may be coming up, soon, though.

You should be able get the 24's on the car with a 5" lift since b-body cars like the caprice have a large wheel well. But if you are looking for a decent turn radius or would like to go with 26's you could always go with 7" complete kit. That 7" kit comes with everything you need to correct your alignment after putting on big rims. If you still want to go with the 5" kit you should at least get extended shocks with it so you can keep your ride quality as smooth as possible.

This involves tearing the front of the engine off and replacing the chain.

I recomend you either purchase a manual or visit a library and read theirs.
