ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is a combination of TC (Traction Control) and the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) assisting the driver in conditions where wheel slippage occurs.

1) The cars senses that the wheels are slipping on the road. This can be caused by conditions such as rain, snow, or uneven road surfaces. The driver can also make maneuvers that cause ESC/ TC to activate.

2) Due to the wheel slippage, TC usage the ABS (Anti Lock Brake System) to assist the driver in regaining traction by applying the ABS system. ESC reduces the engine power to allow better traction to be reestablished.

3) The HHR SS has a feature to turn these systems off. In certain conditions, wheel slippage (caused by the driver or conditions) is intentional and the reduction of engine power would not be beneficial.

In short, when you activate "ESC OFF", the TC AND ESC are no longer functioning on the car, allowing the wheels to slip after traction is lost.

Generally, yes. The VortecMax is a 6.0L 367 motor, but it is the High Output version, devolped in 2005 for use in the gmc sierras and Chevrolet SS trucks. The VortecMax 6.0L produces 35 more horsepower and 20 more ft/lbs of torque than the standard 6.0L. (about 350 hp and i think about 440 ft/lbs torque). The 5.3L 327 is rated at 310 horsepower and 330 ft/lbs of torque.

The VortecMax 6.0L is more powerfull than the 5.3L but the 5.3L 327 has better fuel economy (miles per gallon), so it would depend on what you consider better

Depends on what type of hitch it has, with a general class III (3) hitch the capasity is 7,000 LBS towing. A Class IV (4) (only if your truck has a more powerfull motor such as the 6.5L diesel and 7.4L 454) hitch you can tow up to 8,000 Lbs. It wouldn't be safe to tow anything more than 4 tons

You will need a steering wheel puller and a lock plate remover tool if you still want to do the job let me know i will walk you through it. It is a fairly easy job ocne you have the steering wheel and locking plate out of the way, which are easy to remove with all tooling.

There are four in the system altogether. Bank one is the driver side of the engine. Senor one is the upstream senor before the cat. senor two is after the cat. They mount senor one in the exhaust manifold.

first you make sure your float level is set right. you hook up a vacum gauge to a vacum port at the base of the carb.then you screw the screws in the bottom of base in all the way till it is snug then you back them out 1 1/2 complete turns start vehicle and make sure it is warmed up and screw in or out each screw and watch till you have the highest vacum reading with it running good and smooth,you shuold be idleing about 600-800 rpms .if it is a quader jet carb then you will havbe to probably have it rebuilt by someone that knows the tricks to seal the base plugs so they don't leak and cause the truck to run rich.
