To be precise it is Srebrenica Genocide or Massacre. About 8000 people were killed, mainly men.

I think it's because the Tutsis and Hutus were evacuated by the Americans. But the genocide hasn't actually stoped. People are still being killed.That might be the answer.

Stalin killed way more people than Hitler... Hitlers death number was about 5 times less than Stalin and only reason Hitler is recognized more often is because he was an anti-Semite and he only targeted certain races whereas Stalin destroyed anyone who opposed his authority. Usually when Stalin killed someone it escalated to killing any connections to that person and the numbers grew. Hitler started small and ended small compared to Stalin.

The internation community condemned the genocide. The Allied victors demanded, after the war, that the Ottoman government prosecute the Young Turks occused of wartime crimes. however, nothing was ever really done.

Because it was not a genocide but a war. The Armenians had began to attack the Ottoman army and the Ottomans responsed. Besides the war, there were civil killings from both sides. Ottoman Empire hanged many Turks as a punishment. Nothing was done to Armenians who killed civil Turks. They were only banished from Turkish soil.

The Rwandan Genocide began in April of 1994 between the two main ethnic groups in Rwanda: the Hutus and the Tutsis. Its estimated that 800,000 of the minority Tutsis were killed by the Hutu militia during the 100 days that the genocide lasted.

There were many events which have been described as genocides during the Bosnian war. Many of these were carried out by Bosnian Serbs often with the support of the Yugoslavian Army (who are mostly Serbians). Other attacks which were described as genocide were carried out by Croatian Bosnians and also some by Bosnian Muslims (Bosniaks). The definition of 'genocide' is not clear and because all wars can be 'dirty' it is hard to say what was a genocide and what wasn't but it's probably fair to say that all sides commited some dirty acts.

Turkey applies a lot of pressure to all of its allies to ignore the Armenian, Pontic Greek, and Assyrian genocides. Considering that Israel cannot afford to really lose Turkey as a regional ally, this is the motive for non-recognition. However, there have been a number of debates in the Knesset concerning recognizing the Armenian genocide as the Turkish-Israeli relationship becomes increasingly weaker. Additionally, most Israeli academics are not even conflicted on the question of the genocides; they argue quite strongly that it did happen, like the majority of academics worldwide.

Only 30 or so countries recognize the Armenian genocide, not even the United States federal government, and almost none recognize the other two. It is very unfortunate, in my view, since whether a tragedy is a genocide should not be a political decision, but should be clear from the historical facts. Unfortunately, the government of Turkey has made the recognition of the genocide a political issue.

The tribe that was targeted were the Tutsis. They were targeted by the Hutus. The Hutus hated the Tutsis and the Tutsis hated the Hutus. After the president was shot down in a plane the whole government fell apart and the Hutus took over the goverment and tragically started taking out Tutsis.
