when female guppies are just about to give birth to their young ones they start breathing very fast and try to hide from other fishes and even male guppies as they'll attack it.one more sign is the gravid spot near the anus enlarges and gets dark and just before the birth the eyes of the fry can be seen through the transparent body of the guppy

A fully grown goldfish can weigh up 10lbs (4.5kg) but that is rare. However, it's not unrealistic for a goldfish to be 5lbs (2.25kg)

Visible tiny white spots anywhere on the fishes body are indicators of white spot. (Ich)They can often be seen scratching themselves against the gravel and other things in the tank. During spring however, the males develop white spots on their gills and pectoral fins so don't mistake them for disease.

Once the goldfish is compleatly frozen even if in the middle of frozen water it will die because the brain heart and gills will freeze with it and they wouldn't start back up because one those are done working the fish will not live.

And why would you freeze your goldfish?

I have tried, and it doesn't seem to work very well. The triops usually get sucked into filters, or eaten/picked at by the fish. That doesn't mean you cant, it just means that the way I tried it did not work. If you kept them with very small fish, in a tank with a sponge filter (where they cant get sucked up), that might work better.

The rule is 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. A tank usually has an inch or two of gravel at the bottom and is usually filled to within an inch of the top so if the tank is 12 inches deep approximately one quarter of it is not holding water. Now in your case you would be lucky if your 15 gallon tank is holding 12 gallons. So doing the simple addition it looks as if you could have up to 12 inches of fish in there. So any combination will make it up ie 1 x 12 inch fish, 2 x 6 inch fish, all the way down/up to 12 x 1 inch fish.

To answer this question, one must question your definition of "dirty".

If you mean simply murky water, then yes, most fish can easily survive in murky water. Only the most fragile of fish would be affected by having murky water, in which case their gills would possibly become inflamed.

HOWEVER, if you mean contaminated by chemicals, or by waste products produced by the fish itself, then no, or at-least not for extended periods. Think about it this way, the fish "breaths" from the same water it excretes all of it's waste into. Just as breathing in carbon-monoxide is lethal to humans above a certain concentration, as are waste products to fish. Man made pollution is even more dangerous to a fishes health.

i thinks so because if a neon fish 2 inches long, a little gold fish can not fit it in its mouth.

You should be more worried about the neon fish getting eaten. Goldfish can get up to about a foot but they usually don't get THAT big (mine are about 6"). Goldfish will eat anything that will fit into it's mouth. Whether it is ghost shrimp, or a smaller goldfish, they will eat it.

Some varieties colour up after a few weeks and around half inch long and others take months and are a couple of inches long before they show colour. There are of course some that will never colour up.

Yes goldfish can eat frozen bloodworms.My advice would be to thaw the worm first before you feed them to your goldfish.Goldfish also enjoy daphnia,freeze-dried brineshrimp,vegetables, and oranges.Just make sure not to feed any fancy goldfish that have a wen (worty growth on head) live food because the food may burrow into the fishes wen and cause horrific health problems.

Only Carps eat duckweed, such as Goldfish and Koi. Danios do not.

There is way of telling without actually witnessing what is happening. If you live where there are bird predators like kingfishers, cormorants, egrets or any of the many other water birds, they could be your problem. On the other hand if there are felines in the area they too could be removing fish from a garden pond. Depending on the size and shape of the pond maybe you could design and build some type of cover out of something like chicken wire to prevent the predators from gaining access to the water.

Stop the filter, open it in the water and RELEASE IT IMMEDIATELY! The fish has just gone through the filter and it is very stressed out. imagine being sucked up a giant vacuum cleaner! Clean the tank up an hour later and transfer the fish into a separate tank and check for signs of diseases over the next few weeks.

Online, BiOrb recommends positioning the air pump above water level and on a solid surace to reduce noise, mainly through vibration. They also mention that the air pump is at its noisiest in it's first 2 weeks, so if you have just purchased the tank this is most likely the problem. Personally, I have found that the air pump doesn't quieten down significantly over time, and so would recommend that you purchase an alternative silent air pump if the noise bothers you

A bubble eyed goldfish needs a diet containing a range of food. big pellets that slowly sink are recommended due to that bubble eyed goldfish are slow swimmers. Flakes are a risk as the fish is prone to swallowing air which can result in diseases such as swim bladder. They can also eat vegetables like lettuce, cucumber, cooked and finely chopped green beans, cooked and de-shelled peas; they also like finely chopped oranges once in awhile.

You probably want something that is 1/2 gallon or more, but sometimes you can have .3 gal. or .4 gallon, but those are for the small ones. If you get a crowntail betta. DEFINITELY get one 1/2 gallon or more.

Short answer: No. But it depends on how much water they have.

Goldfish can be kept in ponds for example. The larger the surface area of the water in your aquarium, the more gas exchange will occur, and the easier it will be to maintain proper amounts of oxygen in the water.

The point of an air pump is to agitate the surface of the water. This encourages gas exchange at the surface, which is what puts new oxygen into the water. Contrary to popular belief, the bubbles themselves do NOT add oxygen to the water. It is the surface agitation they cause that aids in oxygenating the water. Gas exchange will happen even in completely still water, but surface agitation enhances it.

In an aquarium, you probably need some kind of surface agitation unless you have a very large tank. Power filters can themselves provide adequate surface agitation, but having an air pump is never a bad thing.

out the water by sucking it in or biting it and swallowing and digesting it i guess various fish feed in various ways. particular foods are taken in via suction, such as a bass inhaling a worm, while others might attack and bite, such as bluefish or other toothy varieties, chomping upon smaller baitfish. size matters. small aquarium fish kind of 'nibble' the numerous food products available. larger fish feed with more intensity and purpose.
