it is always good to get some kind of filter for your fish, but natural ponds dont' always need one. the filters will keep out some bad bacteria though, and keep your fish healthy longer, and allow you to actually see them. goldfish are very hardy and can withstand quite a bit.

If theyre different types of goldfish, check theyre suitable to live with each other. If they are, then theyre just fighting over space because the tanks too small. If that's the case, get a bigger one asap. Remember one goldfish needs 10 gallons of water >_< So a couple will need a LOT!!

Well the chemicals in the coloring can hurt the goldfish so it is not safe to have food die in a goldfishes tank!:p Hope that helps!

If there has been a normal goldfish spawning frenzy there will be many of both fertilised and unfertilised ova. The ones that go white and are most visible within 36 hours are the infertile ones. The ones you don't/can't see easily because they are almost transparent are the good fertilised ones. Be patient. In a few weeks, provided the adults don't eat them all, you will see tiny fry (they look like small slivers of glass) wriggling and swimming around the edges of plants and algae. Good luck with them.

with a sample size of 20 goldfish, i found that 35% were smiling...until i bit their heads off. goldfish!

One thing you can do is make the water colder than heat it up so it feels like hibernation .Also feed your fish a little more than usual and introduce them.

You would need to put goldfish eggs in a separate tank, and yes, you may have to take the goldfish eggs out of the main tank where all the goldfish are, because the adult goldfish will eat the eggs. However, you can just cover the goldfish eggs in a plastic see-through box while being inside of the main tank if you don't want to take it out, just in case you may harm it, and the fish won't be able to eat it.

yes mine has ate goldfish almost his whole life now hes up to 20 every two weeks he also eats fish food but if he doesnt get goldfish he will not eat fish food until he gets his goldfish and the books say its ok

From numerous websites, I've seen answers that range from 50 gallons, 100 gallons and as much as 1000 liters (260+ gallons)!
