you should'nt put parrotfish with goldfish. Parrot fish are known to be be quite mean. It will eat or kill the goldfish if it is smaller than he is. So unless you have a really big goldfish, I suggest not putting it in with the parrotfish.

Most other coldwater fish. There are some species of catfish and then there is the Golden Orf and Blue Dace. Check around the local pet shops for coldwater fish. You never know what may be available.

well, I'm a beginner. I have had a male betta in a 5lt jar for 2 months and added an opaline/blue gourami to it, of almost the same size.

The same day, the gourami suddenly was super swift, swam around like a maniac, spurted out immense bubbles, dug into the betta's well-established nest. While doing this, it would fall towards the bottom upside down and then get back to life with a repeat action (of the above). We loved these stunts. All this while, the betta would stay to a corner on the surface. And then the gourami lay between the pebbles. After say about 5 minutes, I tried moving (I could only think that it was asleep) but it had passed out. And my betta was relatively more active after the other was removed.

can be varies things ,such not enough salt in the water ,overfed , infected ,bladder condition ,etc

if in pond with other fishes and this is the odd one is most properly bladder ,

cook up a couple of peas and try to feed the fish ,usual there need a big pooh after and it should be fine ,

if no respond and still swimming leave it alone , don't feed at times it recover itself ,and other times it can live in that condition for a while ,at other times you will loose the goldfish ,

You get a saucepan and place a slice of lard on it. Put it on top of a gas top and let the lard melt. When it has melted, crack open the egg and try and get it all in one spot instead of all over the saucepan (this normally doesn't happen for me!). Then get a spatular and push gently round the sides of the egg as it fries. Then when the yoke has all gone orange/yellow and all the liquid has turned white, you use the spatular to take it off the saucepan and then it is ready to eat!

Most tap water is "clean" enough for the fish. You can drink it, but in many cases it has a lot of chlorine in it as a result of the purification process used by most water suppliers. All that one really has to do to make it safe for use with a betta is to let is sit out for a few days. But don't put it in a bottle. Fish can not be overfed. They stop eating when they have had enough. What is meant by "overfeeding" is putting more food in a tank than a fish can eat. If this food is left in the tank, it will go rotten and poison the water. That poison is what kills the fish. If you follow the rules your fish should never get sick. The basic rules for keeping fish successfully are :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank need at least 50% of its water replaced every week.. If you follow the above rules and keep your Betta at around 78F your fish will stand a chance of surviving. If you fail in any of them I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick.

It depends on how bad. if it was attacked by another goldfish and is injured bad and you know it won't survive it would be best to leave it in there and hope for the best the attacker will finish the fish off. sorry for your lost
