Can goldfish change colour?

Most goldfish are more orange in color than actually gold. Their name probably originated in the same way they did. Back in Ancient China the Chinese would keep pools of carp. Overtime, they began to notice that certain fish were a kind of shiny gold color instead of the normal, rather dull, color of most carp. They began separating these fish and breeding them thus creating the pet goldfish. Goldfish most likely got their name because, although they weren't necessarily perfectly gold in color, compared to other carp they were truly golden.

Why does goldfish breathe fast and move slowly?

If a goldfish is gasping for air at the surface, it's usually a water quality issue. Test for ammonia (it should be zero), nitrites (zero), and nitrates (10ppm or less), and also your PH (7.4 to 7.6 is best).

If your numbers are different, you should try a large water change of at least 75% to help clear the water of harmful toxins, and quite likely help with the PH level. Remember to match the temperature of the new water to the old water, and to add in the recommended dosage of water conditioner per the instructions on the bottle.
This is a process that you should be doing at least every week, but more if your tank is overstocked.

How fast are goldfish?

Approximately 2 inches in length by the time the fish is 4 months old, however the growing rate greatly slows after this period (although the fish will continue to grow until about three years of age) and every goldfish is different so there is no way to know exactly how fast a particular fry will grow.

How long can a goldfish is penant?

Hey, sorry if I'm too late but, it actually differs and depends on the gold fish its self.

I remember when I had a gold fish I had it in a cup of water and by the time I got home it died. I was crying but that's not the point. Every year I got that same kind it always died. An average gold fish though, lasts about 10-25 years. There are some that live longer than that. Just make sure to give it a big tank and feed it properly everyday.

AnswerYou shouldn't feed it everyday. it depends on what your feeding him and how much. if it is solid betta fish food a pinch and do that 3 times a week. and if you are feeding him fruit flies than 1or2 3x a week should also be good

I feed my male Betta fish 1-2 flakes of Betta fish food a day, but I think the male fish eat more than females. If you feed your fish pellets, it's also 1-2 pellets a day. I would read the dirrections on the container/bag that your fish food comes in though.

the red spots are blood and the red streaks in the tale they are both from ammonia level andthe spots are from ammonia and bacteria.

BUT IF YOU DO NOT TREAT THIS IT WILL DIE!

the size of your tank might be to small.

first you have to get the ammonia level under control and the pH goldfish like more than 7.0

use ammonia lock, aquarium salt, stress coat, and stress zyme.

i order my stuff from dr. foster and smith. its so much cheeper than the pet shop and for a little more they will ship overnight.

if you do not get this under control the fish will get open sores.

you should use gallons of drinking water, spring has to many minnerals in it

you should also put another air pump on in addition to what you are using now. try and keep the temp of the tank the same.

after the ammonia level is under control begin with a wide spec. antiboitic for bacteria.

you will have to change water every day before treatment then test

after you do this it is very important to put back in the ammonia lock salt stress coat and stress zyme but only for the amount of water you replace.

good luck to you and God's speed!
