A goldfish can be ready to spawn in one year from birth. They will continue to grow all their lives (20 years plus) and can grow very large (several kilos).

A female goldfish may lay on her side if she is eggbound. Eggbound is the condition inwhich a female goldfish becomes so full of eggs that it causes pressure to be placed on the swim bladder causing the fish to swim oddly. If the fish is eggbound it may also look swollen. Goldfish don't get truly "pregnant" because they are not livebearers.

The best thing for your goldfish is goldfish food... flakes or pellets are good.

They can also have blood worms, and Daphnia (water fleas) (both of which can be bought frozen in pet stores)

To keep goldfish healthy, they need clean water so consider a water filter which can be bought from a local aquatic shop and some toys to keep them entertained, some can be attached to a water pump to make bubbles to be fun and entertaining for your fish. I am guessing you wish to know about fish stocking rates. Its very simple really. The bigger the fish the more water it needs. The way it works is, 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water, every tank needs a cycled filter and every tank also needs to have at least 50% of its water changed every week. So a Goldfish (grows to about 10 inches) would need a MINIMUM of 10 gallons of water. A 10 gallon tank is not big enough because tanks usually have some kind of substrate (gravel base) and are never filled to the brim. A nominal 10 gallon tank would only actually contain about 7 or 8 gallons of water.

You can give goldfish finely chopped fruits, vegetables such as deskined peas are not only good for their health but can also prevent constipation which is quite common in goldfish. Hope you are satistifed with the answer and that I could help

not sure if they'll continue doing this on the 3rd week.

my 3 goldfish laid eggs once a week, now I'm on the 2nd week,

1st week, 1st batch of eggs were laid, hatched, and became free-swimming baby fish frys;

2nd week, 2nd batch of eggs were laid, still hatching, at the moment,

Bettas are carnivores, though when starving, they have been known to eat plant roots, or other plant material. This is very bad for them, as their digestive system is not suited to digesting plant matter. It will clog up their system and kill them over time. Just go to walmart and shell out the $3.45 for the cheep betta pellet food for crying out loud.

The basic rules for successfull fishkeeping are as follows. :- 1 inch of fish needs AT LEAST 1 gallon of water (3 gallons per inch is far better). :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs to have at least 50% of its water replaced every week. yes, as long as the tank is big enough. i have 8 different types of goldfish, some of which are over 10 years old, and i have found the rule that work best for most types of goldfish is to have 1 gallon of water and at least 6'' sq. water surface area per inch of goldfish. with a bubbler, that rule can be bent a bit. it is good to make sure goldfish have enough space because goldfish use more oxygen and emit more ammonia and other oxygen-replacing toxins into the water than most other types of fish. the extra surface area is important to ensure that the fish get enough oxygen. overall, it is very possible and easy to keep healthy goldfish without a bubbler or aerating filter, but it is not a bad idea to have one of the two.

Goldfish will lay on their side and open their gills when they die. It can also float towards the surface. If you are not sure prod it respectfully and gently. If they continue to lay side on and their gills don't close again, assume it's dead. The best way for a goldfish to exit the world is to flush it as it can remain in water. Absolutely not! Goldfish produce alot of ammonia and put alot of toxins into the water. Good rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish to every 2-3 gallons of water with regular goldfish. For fancy goldfish (lion heads, ranchus, black moors, etc.) You need 20 gallons for the first fish, and ten for every one after that.

So if your fish is gonna get say 6 inches fully grown then you are gonna need to get a biger tank. The myth that a fish will only get as big as his tank allows is way off...If you put a baby in a box and continue to feed it like you would a pet fish in a tank then it will grow and that's that. A guppy or beta sized fish would do well in a one gallon as long as the fish you choose doesn't get any bigger than 1 inch or so fully grown. Be sure to never rinse you tank out with hot water or use soap. Hot water kills the good bacteria and soap is toxic. Get a test kit and only change the water as needed because if you over change the water you loose the alot of the good bacteria and it gives the bad bacteria room to grow. Oh and declorinator drops are a must if you use tap water! You can just buy purified water from the store if you don't want to use the drops.

I wouldn't suggest getting the guppy in the first place. It's not like the fish will die within hours, but a week without an air pump and the fish will either be very unhealthy or most likely die. You can probably find a way to replicate an air pump, such as putting a vacuum cleaner in there and having it blow out, but that would not be very good either. It completely depends on how long the air pump will be out and how large the tank is along with how many fish are in there. My guess though is about 3 days at the least.

Not always. Goldfish are largely peaceful, but... They have ravenous appetites and eat aggressively, so tankmates may not get enough food and/or may get hurt in the process. They foul a tank with copious amounts of waste (poop), so tankmates may not be able to survive the more toxic environment. They get big, so tankmates and decorations may get broken or injured. Goldfish can be frozen in water and thawed in the spring without harm. We have done so many times. We had to remove the fish by cutting a block of ice around the fish with a chain saw. We then thaw them in a bucket of water then put them back into the stock tanks with fresh water. One fish we had survived several winters with no ill affects from being frozen in a large block of ice.

Betta's are carnivores (meat eaters).

Some readily take pellets, and some are fussy eaters, and may never eat pellets.

Try blood worms or brine shrimp if you are worried it's not eating.

Alternative is to take it back to the fish store and ask for one that is eating.

The fish is dying but is not dead yet. I would advise you to sort out your water quality issues before replacing the fish. The basic rule is "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water". On top of this, a tank containing fish should have a cycled filter and at least 50% of its water changed weekly.
