Goldfish were developed by the Chinese over a thousand years ago from a species of Carp. This would indicate to me that the Goldfish has no natural "ecosystem" of its own in which it evolved. However I would assume that the ecosystem to suit one would be that of the natural habitat of the fish from which the goldfish was derived. Namely the Prussian Carp (Carassius gibelio). These fish naturally inhabit the temperate lakes, Ponds and Slow moving rivers of Asia. So their 'ecosystem' would be that of a temporate lake, pond or slow moving river.

Fish are born with the innate abilty to swim; it is not learned, it is hard wired into them.

do u mean when they turn yellow, if so, it actually depends on how you treat them, i give my dog the dentix things every day, but his teeth will get yellow so we have to pay to get them washed, but i think if u dont give him the dentix, his teeth should turn yellow quite fast.

u can buy tooth brushes for dogs at pet stores, that is if u want to, but i strongly recommend that u at least use the dentix u can get from asda, oh yea and they have special sizes for different sized dogs.

You can do this, however, please note that it is not recommended. Goldfish are coldwater fish which makes finding a suitable snail for a coldwater tank very difficult since the majority of snails sold at pet/fish stores are tropical. It is also likely that if you were to put a snail in with a goldfish the goldfish would probably harass it (i.e. trying to eat it, bumping into it, knocking it down).

I have fed both my Sarasa goldfish fresh basil on occasions and they seem to enjoy it alot. I feed them all sorts of fruit, veg and live foods to keep them healthy and happy. Things like:

cooked shelled peas

lettuce

spinach

orange -skin and piff removed

chunks of cucumber-great play toy too. They love to get the seeds out from the middle.

frozen and live bloodworms, ect

Be careful you do not overfeed them and keep an eye on water parameters-not to much sugary foods, so orange as an occasional treat. Fish are ominvores so they benefit from a whole range of foods. Dont feed anything processed or un-natural.

If you have an aquarium with a heater, turn the heater down to colder temperatures (remember goldfish can live in freezing temperatures, surviving fierce winters in outdoor ponds, although I wouldn't recommend putting your goldfish through that if it's avoidable.) and after your aquarium water is cold for roughly a month begin to heat the water back up (do this gradually over 2 weeks or so as to not cause shock to them) and then when the water is hot they'll believe it's summer and it'll be egg-makin' time! I am guessing you wish to know about fish stocking rates. Its very simple really. The bigger the fish the more water it needs. The way it works is, 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water, every tank needs a cycled filter and every tank also needs to have at least 50% of its water changed every week. So a Goldfish (grows to about 10 inches) would need a MINIMUM of 10 gallons of water. A 10 gallon tank is not big enough because tanks usually have some kind of substrate (gravel base) and are never filled to the brim. A nominal 10 gallon tank would only actually contain about 7 or 8 gallons of water.

You can give goldfish finely chopped fruits, vegetables such as deskined peas are not only good for their health but can also prevent constipation which is quite common in goldfish. Hope you are satistifed with the answer and that I could help

not sure if they'll continue doing this on the 3rd week.

my 3 goldfish laid eggs once a week, now I'm on the 2nd week,

1st week, 1st batch of eggs were laid, hatched, and became free-swimming baby fish frys;

2nd week, 2nd batch of eggs were laid, still hatching, at the moment,

Bettas are carnivores, though when starving, they have been known to eat plant roots, or other plant material. This is very bad for them, as their digestive system is not suited to digesting plant matter. It will clog up their system and kill them over time. Just go to walmart and shell out the $3.45 for the cheep betta pellet food for crying out loud.

The basic rules for successfull fishkeeping are as follows. :- 1 inch of fish needs AT LEAST 1 gallon of water (3 gallons per inch is far better). :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs to have at least 50% of its water replaced every week. If the above rules are followed fish stand a good chance of survival provided the special food and water requirements of the individual species are observed too. yes, as long as the tank is big enough. i have 8 different types of goldfish, some of which are over 10 years old, and i have found the rule that work best for most types of goldfish is to have 1 gallon of water and at least 6'' sq. water surface area per inch of goldfish. with a bubbler, that rule can be bent a bit. it is good to make sure goldfish have enough space because goldfish use more oxygen and emit more ammonia and other oxygen-replacing toxins into the water than most other types of fish. the extra surface area is important to ensure that the fish get enough oxygen. overall, it is very possible and easy to keep healthy goldfish without a bubbler or aerating filter, but it is not a bad idea to have one of the two.

Goldfish will lay on their side and open their gills when they die. It can also float towards the surface. If you are not sure prod it respectfully and gently. If they continue to lay side on and their gills don't close again, assume it's dead. The best way for a goldfish to exit the world is to flush it as it can remain in water. Absolutely not! Goldfish produce alot of ammonia and put alot of toxins into the water. Good rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish to every 2-3 gallons of water with regular goldfish. For fancy goldfish (lion heads, ranchus, black moors, etc.) You need 20 gallons for the first fish, and ten for every one after that.

So if your fish is gonna get say 6 inches fully grown then you are gonna need to get a biger tank. The myth that a fish will only get as big as his tank allows is way off...If you put a baby in a box and continue to feed it like you would a pet fish in a tank then it will grow and that's that. A guppy or beta sized fish would do well in a one gallon as long as the fish you choose doesn't get any bigger than 1 inch or so fully grown. Goldfish get pretty big and it seems as though you are gonna need a biger tank.

Be sure to never rinse you tank out with hot water or use soap. Hot water kills the good bacteria and soap is toxic. Get a test kit and only change the water as needed because if you over change the water you loose the alot of the good bacteria and it gives the bad bacteria room to grow. Oh and declorinator drops are a must if you use tap water! You can just buy purified water from the store if you don't want to use the drops.

Any where from 68-82F will work just fine for him The preferred temperature for Beta fish is around 80 degrees. Yes, they can survive at much lower temps but if you want a healthy pet please provide a warmer environment. And try to keep this temp as constant as possible.
