It moves like a clam does (as in it sticks its "tongue" out and moves the body with it). It seems like a worm inside of some sort of shell. This is the second one I've found so far.

Home depot had this stuff for 20-30 bucks to spray around the house that is suppose to work for 6 months. I sprayed it inside the the house at the wall to floor area plus under the floors at the foundation to floor area. I had no problems for a year. I think I miss the company. I did see one roach this week with his feet up in the air in my bathroom.

There are many places a katydid could hide from danger. Since they can fly, it would not be unusual to see find them hiding in leaves far off the ground or blending in with tree branches.

How do you get rid of mealy bug?
Rubbing alcohol works very well on mealy bugs. Just use some alcohol soaked, ear-swabs and rub all of the white gunk off. Or, if you have a spray-bottle, just douse the mealy bugs with it. Be careful not to hit any flowers, as this may singe their petals.

How is the vision of insects and arachnids different?
Most spiders have four pairs of simple eyes, usually grouped into two or three rows, an arrangement that gives them a wide field of vision. Insects have one pair of compound eyes, each made up of individual hexagonal-shaped facets and each facet has its own optic nerve. - Bat wings are leathery to the touch, and not made out of feathers like bird's wings.
