What is another name for caps Lock key?

The another name for the caps lock key is shift lock key. When typewriters were first invented there was no standard arrangement of the letters on the keys. Originally, it made a lot of sense: in a mechanical typewriter the Shift keys did just that: they shifted the type mechanism vertically so the type bars would hit the paper with the uppercase letters; and the Shift Lock key would keep the keys locked in this position. This key had to sit right above the Shift key, because it physically latched it in a depressed position; hitting Shift again would release the lock. It was very easy to see (and feel) whether Shift was locked or not, because both keys would be depressed when the lock was engaged. Early computer keyboards carried this idea forward, with a Shift Lock or Caps Lock key that had two physical positions: depressed for Lock, and flush with the other keys when released. Later, as keyboard makers sacrificed quality for cheap manufacturing, the more complex and different two-state key was replaced with a momentary key called Caps Lock or Shif Lock key.

I don't see manufacturers giving us back the 2-position key (it would cost them a few cents, after all), but the least you may be unaware that depressing Shift+F3 repeatedly will change any selected text to lowercase, uppercase, and sentence case.

How to do well in a typing test?

There are a few tricks to doing well in these:

1. ALWAYS be typing, don't try to go and correct any mistakes you make, just keep pushing foward.

2. A good idea is to start off soft in the first few tests (go at a speed that feels comfortable to you, rather then as fast as you possibly can go) and then in the last ones you take go as fast as you can. Like stretching before a workout, this is an excellent idea.

3. Try to maintain calm even if you mess up, just focus on the next word should you fail spelling a word, this will help you get the next ones right and not face the same spelling errors over and over.

Is there any software for playing harmonium?

Harmonium is one of the musical instrument of Indian origin. The beauty of human vocal chord is such that no one has ever duplicated it in true spirit. I am telling this to stress the point that any lyrics sung by human being is only duplicated to the nearest extent and is only by harnomic flow of swarams appropriate to the ragams. So to play a song harmonium I have to write the appropriate swarams maintaining the ragam and thalam and jathi. As such I do not find any program which can take songs as input and give the swaram sheet as output. I am also intereted to participate in forming the first maiden program (software) capable of giving the swaram for any songs so that we can play. Once we could program to give the output as swaras we can as well make the system to play the songs. I have only had set the ball to role. I expect further discussions on this to make this possible. Thank you, Swamibala

How do you get line through 0 on keyboard?

For Microsoft word:

You want to use your strikeout function in your font menu. Type the letter(s) or number(s) that you want to strike though. Then highlight them.

If you don't see a button on your toolbar that shows a letter with a line through it, then do this:

CTRL + D. When you get the font window, click on the checkbox in front of "strikethrough." Click on Ok.

When you're done, and the letters and numbers have been lined out, go back to CTRL + D, and unclick "strikethrough". If you don't do that, everything you type thereafter will have a line through it.

If you'd prefer to eliminate a step, just before you begin typing the text you want lined out, go to CTRL + D and click on the checkbox in front of "strikethrough". Click on okay. It will line out everything that you type thereafter. When you're ready to stop the strikethrough, go back to CTRL + D, and uncheck the strikethrough option.

When incoming print on computer is too small how can you make it larger?

If you are talking about print on the internet, all you have to do is hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard along with the Key two spaces down from the zero, which has a "+" symbol and a "=" symbol on it. Press these two keys multiple times to zoom in on the text. To zoom out, simply do the same thing except this time hold on "Ctrl" and the key one space from the zero which has a "-" symbol and a "_" symbol on it. If you are talking about print on a Microsoft Office software Eg: Microsoft Word, then there should be a drop down menu somewhere on the page that is selected on something like "75%" or maybe even "100%" If you can't find this menu then you will need to go to the right hand side of your document and go up to the tool bar that comes across the top of your page underneath the File, Edit, View etc. options. Then click on the little button that has two arrows pointing to the right on the top of it and then a down arrow on the bottom. A box will then pop up and somewhere in that box should be the drop down menu.
