The Scandinavian Peninsula is ~780,000 sq km in size. But that only includes some of Sweden and Norway.
But "Scandinavia" as all of Sweden, Denmark and Norway, it has a size of ~878,000 sq km.
But that, sort of also includes Svalbard, Jan Mayen and possibly other overseas possessions, but the Faroe Islands, and Greenland are, also, sort of overseas possessions, (though they have a much greater autonomy, as they are different nations) making this previous answer completely irrelevant as they were not included....
Anyway, the total area of the Nordic Countries, (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland) and their possessions is 3.5 million km², making them 200,000 sq km bigger than India.
(Greenland accounts for 60% of the total area).
But countries with a comparable size of the Scandinavian Peninsula + Denmark (~820,000 sq km) are Namibia, Mozambique, Pakistan and Turkey.
Svalbard is (in my opinion) an amazing place. Why? Well because it holds so many features in which are extraordinary such as, Northern lights, Seed vault and painted houses. It is also very cold (Because it is inside the Arctic Circle) Hope that helped :)
What was Norway like in the 14th century?
Short story;
It was a nice little farmer's country, with some forestry and other small buisness. Oh, and a massive fishing/trading fleet.
due to the general geography of the country, very few areas were very well suited for large grain fields and other pruduce you would have found in abundance in countries like Denmark at the time (Norway = full of mountains, Denmark = rediculously flat).
As a result, there were more and smaller farms, rather than fewer and bigger. You would still find large farms in norway, with entire families living there (grandmothers, cousins of the main family, you know: the whole package)
everything was running smoothly like this, up until summer 1349. At that time, a trade ship from england came in to one of norways major trading hubs, Bergen, had brought with it "The black death". This was a plague that wiped out approximately 2/3 of Norways entire population, and utterly devastated the country.
Then, around 1380, the danes were so kind as to claim the weakened Norway for Denmark, because they could.
Long story short :P

What is a typical day in the life of a student your age who lives in Norway?
Oslo is a capital and urban area, so daily life is about traffic, bus, subways and all other things that make up a city. However we have shifting weather, so the city changes with the climate. In the winter we will have to cope with icy sidewalks, heavy snow, cold temperatures and general winter problems.
Being a urban area we are still very close to nature, and great hiking and skiing destinations can be reached by all subway lines, you are never further away from nature than 30 minutes in Oslo

What is the norwegian language called?
When in norway? -By using their native language, norwegian.
When elsewhere?- Every norwegian recieves an education in english spanning over at least 10 years, but most have it as a subject for a couple of more years, just for good measure (but all starting at their first year in scool, at the age of 6).
Hence English will be the norwegian mans prime choice of foreign language, when faced with a situation that demands it.
Most also have a third language, like spanish, french or german. This is studied either 3 or 5 years, depending on how devoted the student feels to the subject, and starts at the age of 14.
So all norwegians are given the opportunity of speaking and writing near flawless english, and have at the very least adequate proficiency with one or more foreign languages, but of course: talent varies with people.
The most common pit norwegians tend to fall into when it comes to bad english, is BAD intonation, in other words: speaking english, with a completely norwegian intonation. Describing this with words is far more difficult than merely pointing you to youtube, and have you listen to some random norwegian.
Hope this helps as a general answer to a somewhat vague question ;P
(not denmark or sweeden, as the three pretty much understand each others languages)
