Ovulation is the release of a mature egg (or ovum) from one of the ovaries. It occurs about 14 days after the end of the last menstrual cycle. The egg travels down one of the fallopian tubes and is available for fertilization.

If you have just stopped taking the pill and have had withdrawal bleeding could you ovulate soon after how would be best to know?

You might well ovulate two weeks after the commencement of the withdrawal bleed. When I cam off the pill (23 years ago I admit but they had more hormones then too) I took my temperature for the first month and ovulated exactly on time.

What are some reasons you may spot eleven days after the first day of your last period?

Because this is implantation bleeding, left over blood from your previous period, irregular periods, UTI or a hormonal imbalance.

Can you get pregnant 4 days before ovulation?

No, you can not. In the process of ovulation, the ripened egg is released into your womb, where it might be fertilised. So four days prior, there will not be an egg.

Semen that is released into your body prior to your ovulation can stay alive for 2-3 days however, so any sex you have in the days leading up to your ovulation, could still result in pregnancy.

Does pregnancy begin with lmp or ovulation date?

Doctors actually consider the first week of pregnancy to be the week of your menstrual period. The second week is when the sperm fertilizes the egg. Week 3 is when the egg splits into about 500 microscopic cells. Week 4 is the actual beginning stages of the development of the embryo and most likely the week that you find out you are pregnant! -Kharrima

I Agree with the Above. But Some people still believe it is EXACTLY 9 Months before they give Birth (Obviously Does not count for Premature or Overdue Babies. :) ) Though, My Mother's Doctor think it Is When the Embryo starts being made.-Poison2007

Positive OPK past ovulation period?

I just got one too, though I'm so late I don't know where I am right now.

What I've read/been told is that if you get a positive close to your period there is a chance you could be pregnant. An OPK reads lh and hcg. I guess you could call them twins. An OPK can pick up lh and hcg, but because hcg has an extra special part of it, only a hpt can pick up hcg. Make sense?

Are you fertile from the day of ovulation until your period?

How do you calculate the ouvaltion period?

The ovulation period can be calculated by tracking your menstrual cycle. Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days before the start of your next period, so if you have a regular cycle of 28 days, ovulation would likely happen around day 14. You can also monitor physical signs such as changes in cervical mucus or basal body temperature for more accuracy. Keeping a calendar or using an ovulation tracking app can help in determining the exact timing.

Can you have a corpus luteum in an-ovulation?

Can having fever on ovulation day effect ovulation if yes how?

I have been through pre-planned pregnancy book and it works. The 1st day after your period starts you should begin to take your temp. vaginally. It will go up and down a little but when you get around the 11th day watch closely. You should graph all this on a graph paper. You probably will get three or more days that are really close in temperature then it will drop and that is the day you are most suseptible to getting pregnant. You do not have sex for the low temperature days. The book says seven days is all you need to say no for. When your temp rises again it is safe for coital relations again for the rest of the month. If you get sick with a temperature at the time that you usually no when you ovulate. You might have an accident. If the temperature stays you should see a Dr. If you don't have regular periods. Keeping track of that day where the temperature goes down from previous months will give you a clue of when it is safe to resume normal coitus. A mans sperm in your body can live up to 72 hrs. That is why when my temperature went up and didn't peak down, I knew I was pregnant. If I was ill, I would wait to have coitus until the last part of my monthly cycle. This is a great method. Not only do you find out when you are most likely to conceive but also when you most likely won't. There are far more people who teach classes and hand out instructional tapes, videos and books that have much more knowledge then me. I called a Catholic Hospital and asked if they taught the rythem method because I didn't want to take the pill and an IUD they found allows the sperm and the egg to reach each other but then disposis of it in your period. I guess there are new IUD's that don't do that but hey we all need a honeymoon and saying no for 7 days gives you one every month. This method has worked for both my sisters and me and countless other people who like to be more natural. It is not just for Catholics. It also helps people who want a baby to know when they are most likely to conceive and also to know if your early in a pregnancy. The book is called, "Planned Parenthood" If your sick and have a temp either refrain or use a contraceptive method that month. I really hope this helped but check with your Dr.

Do cramps and red spotting during ovulation be a sign of pregnancy?

Mild cramps and spotting for 1-2 days usually occurs during implantation which occurs approximately 6-8 days after ovulation. Cramps during ovulation are perfectly normal and some spotting can occur if there has been any changes in birth control or hormonal imbalances or rough sex. Since ovulation is when you are fertile and can conceive it is highly doubtful that cramps and spotting is due to pregnancy. Any abnormalities should be reported to a gyn and you should go in for an exam if this continues or if the cramps get worse. You want to be able to catch something early if there are any abnormalities.
