I'm not really sure how that would do much good, since rubbing alcohol would really only cool the skin and back pains are typically muscular or spinal in nature. You might be better off with heat and massage.

After suffering for years myself, the first thing I would suggest is to remove eggs and coffee out of the diet completely. Pork is also a common culprit. Try to choose lower fat meal options and avoid creamy type foods, like ice-cream or mayonaisse, etc. This should be a good start.

This is not an answer but more information about my problem. I've been on crutches for about 2 months and 2 weeks. I haven't used my left leg much (the side with the knee pain). I got the go to use my boot so I started walking in my boot about a week ago. The first 3 days I had no pain whatsoever then come the next day I got a sharp pain underneath my left knee. It hurts when it bears weight or when it feels tension but feels relieved when I bend it. Is it because the muscles underneath my knee are weak, is it growing pains??
