Is saying why you so white for to a white person racist?

Absolutely it is. I'm sure if you have a good relationship with whoever you are saying it to... or if two people of the same race are saying it to each other, it could be funny or you could just laugh it off, but it has the potential to be offensive because you are criticizing someone just for being who they are. Similarly, "Why are you such a girl" is also dismissive of the self-image of whoever you say it to. Generally, asking someone why about something that is an obvious part of who they are is offensive. If you want to get to know someone, or know about that part of them, instead of asking them why, try asking questions about how they grew up and get to know them a little more. They'll tell you who they are, and that will include any cultural aspect to the racial or gender-based facts.

What are the reasons of racial discrimination in the US?

Answer: The reasons are many and varied, but a few are discrimination which includes the belief that the conduct is NOT discriminatory, or that discrimination favoring a formerly out-group is OK. Almost all employment discrimination found by EEOC or courts is "technical" "statistical" and other unintentional discrimination. No fear or entitlement was involved, just accidental outcomes from well intentioned conduct or policies. Actual discrimination is rare.

Answer: Some other reasons would include an actual feeling of entitlement for their race on the discriminator's part, viewing others races in a stereotypical manner, being afraid of what's differentand/or new to oneself, feeling slighted by another race, feeling superior and thinking the discrimination is more natural than what it is, and so on.

How are the main stakeholders in racism?

The major stakeholders in racism are all within society. Racism serves as a deterrent to a fully functioning society, with each individual operating at his or her highest potential. Racism affects this goal by putting barriers in place, that will serve to inhibit education and occupational achievement. The ultimate goal of society is full employment of its human resources. Racism is a major deterrent.

How was racism against African-Americans in America affected by World War 2?

It wasn't good! Even in the war in Vietnam there was a problem with blacks vs whites. (Note: Not all white soldiers disliked blacks.) Blacks eventually retaliated (good for them) and asked their country "If we are not good enough to drink from your water fountains and have the same freedoms as you, why should we fight for this country." I would say that is one heck of a good question! Racism is still alive and well, but blacks are gaining more and more control of gaining respect for their race. There are fine actors, lawyers, doctors, etc., out there. Intelligence is always a good tool in winning anything. During many wars (back to the Civil War) history books managed to keep out the part of blacks winning many victories in the Civil War, WWII and Vietnam. Blacks complained especially in WWII and Vietnam that they were often asked to do the most dangerous duties such as lead man scouting for enemies. (White soldiers were given this job as well, but 7 out of 10 times it was a black soldier.) The word "grunt soldier" fit them to a T during this time and means that they had to fight their way ahead and hopefully stay alive long enough to report back to their commanding officer. After the Vietnam War the "Wall of Names" as I so lovingly refer to it, was hit again by some people of society not wanting black soldiers names on this wall. Thank God, that the good people of America out-weighed the not so intelligent. Any man/woman that gives up their life for their country, no matter the color of their skin or their race, should have all honors from the military that they so deserve.

What is jungle fever?

Jungle fever is a term used to refer to the various Tropical diseases, such as Malaria. But it has also been adopted as a racist term used to describe the attraction between those in interracial relationships. It is used to imply that all blacks are primitive natives from the jungle and the only way a white person would have that attraction is if they were diseased. Used this way, it is offensive and bigoted. It is also an improper term often used in the porno industry.

The first known mention of "jungle fever" in this racist context was in 1867 when a German zoologist became ill while traveling in the Tropics, where most illnesses such as malaria, yellow fever, and typhoid were all categorized as jungle fever (and still are). While being cared for, however, he developed feelings for his caretaker, a Rhodesian woman, and refused to return home to his wife. Those back in Europe spoke of his "sickness/jungle fever" not as a reference to his having a contagious Tropical disease, but in reference to his attraction to the African woman.

The term again became popularized as a reference to interracial couples with the very controversial 1991 Spike Lee film Jungle Fever, starring Wesley Snipes & Annabella Sciorra. Wikipedia provides a brief synopsis of the film, see link below in the related links section. The term has lost its popularity since the bigoted subtext has been explained to the uneducated who now better understand its negative context.

Is physical appearance the most important factor in racism and if not what is it?

Not neccessarily, to some it is physical appearance, others just think they are better than everyone from another race. Racism usually stems from ignorance. It is the assumption that the color of one's skin has something to do with intelligence. Racists are usually close minded individuals that think they are better than everyone else.
