probably wont happen since she is waiting on you and when you don't do anything she thinks you don't like her. I like jocks and skaters. But don't change yourself to become one if you are not. Be nice to her but not obsessed. If your not sure if she likes you here are somethings to do to maybe find out:
1. Make sure she is not doing anything that weekend and ask her out on a "group date"
but really your just asking her to go to the movies with you and a couple of both your friends.
2. Then if that goes well ask her out again but not the next weekend. Like 4 weeks later at least and do something with less people.
3. Once you guys have gone out a couple times with less and less people ask her if she would like to go to dinner. (Have your parents drop you guys off at restraunt you both like)

I'm not all that shallow but i will tell u what i do like. I like someone who is funny. i like to laugh and have a good time. I like to have a bf who compliments me, but only if its true. someone who is down to earth and real who wont make a fake person out of themself. athetic guys are always good too. i like guys who arent gonna back stab you, someone you can trust and talk to. someone who can carry on a good convo. a guy that will always stick up for you, and accept you... and if he isn't accepting, then sucks for him. someone who is hot, cute, or atleast good looking to some extent. if you are hot, but have SOME pimples (not an entire faceful), most girls wont care. i mean really! we get them too and sometimes that's just something we cant control. i would want someone who will hug me, and love me, and make me feel safe in his arms. when we hug it should feel like nothing can hurt me. i like guys who like me back. i want someone that will tell his parents he has a girlfriend, and someone who will show me off to the the world with a 'be jealous' attitude.

just be yourself and try not to care what other people think. learn to love yourself, and not become depressed by what society says is beautiful. and just try to talk to people more. try and start conversations and don't worry about what they might think about you.
I personally had the exact same problem in grade school/high school. The best thing is to get out and do things with your friends. The more often you hang around them and others, the more comfortable you will be, and in turn not as shy. You can start going to the movies, hanging at the park, doing sports, and working out(running, walking, weight lifting, etc) together. Try and do everything and everything you can, including school functions like sports events and dances. You may be nervous as all hell for dances, as I was and didn't go because of it(which I regret every day), but just force yourself to go! Even if you are a horrible dancer, go just to be with your friends! Experience is key, and the only way to get experience is to be out there with them!
