What is the original saxophone?
First of all, I don't recommend any saxophone brand that offers colored (excluding silver, nickel, or black nickel plating) saxophones. Those tend to be of extremely poor quality and imported from China. I've been playing sax for over 8 years and I've never heard of a plucker. Unless they are referring to the pad saver. If you're looking for a new sax, and you're not planning to spend a lot of money, i recommend Antigua Winds. I currently play on their top model alto, and I'm very happy with it. I'm not going to say it's better than any Yanagisawa or Selmer, but it only cost me about $1200. They have some as low as $800 I believe. Although that seems expensive, when the pink sax falls apart when you're playing it, you or your parents would have wished you invested more money rather than throwing away $200-300. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yes, the mouthpiece for any instrument in the brass family (tuba, trumpet, trombone, frenchhorn etc) use a metal mouthpiece. It is shaped like a funnel. You put your lips on it and buzz them to make the sound. The only "brass*" that doesn't use a metal mouth is a saxophone. It has a plastic or hard rubber mouthpiece.
* it's not really a brass. It's actually a woodwind but most of it is made of brass and a lot of people mistake for being part of the brass family.
