What can and can't an employer ask you to do regarding appearance. See first answer for details?

I am a dispenser working in a pharmacy in scotland. My employer recently relased a statement saying the following amoungst other things:

1. I must wear a white bra, which is not to be seen (my tunic is white) and i have not to wear any under garments (i.e vest tops etc)

2. I have no longer to wear my bodywarmer/warmth jacket (previously provided by the employer as part of the uniform) - The dispensary gets very cold in the winter and as it is a small shop everytime the door opens when windy the cold air blows in. There are only kick heaters provided

3. I have no longer to wear any thumb rings, and i have only to wear a maximum of 2 rings on each hand.

4. I can no longer wear a watch unless it is gold in colour

5. I can only wear nail polish if it is black or blue to match the company colours.

6. Make up must be applied in the morning and freshened up during the day.

7. Not to have any over powering smell (i.e body odour or perfume)

8. No bracelets except copper (i.e for health reasons)

Any advise on any of the above would be appreciated

Thanks

Does Scotland have it own government?

Yes it does, but it's not an independent country. It has full autonomy over all of it's internal affairs EXCLUDING social security, which is still controlled by Westminster. It also has no power over foreign affairs or defence, and The Queen remains it's Head of State- it can control nearly all of it's own internal matters, but is still part of the UK.

The Scottish National Party, which is the dominant party in the Scottish Parliament, plans to hold a referendum on full independence in 2014, but all current opinion polls suggest that a majority of Scots would vote against this.
