You shouldn't use dogs to keep snakes away from you, there is no particular breed that could do that. Also, the dog could be bitten and killed by a venomous snake. If you don't like snakes that much then move to Hawaii where there are no snakes, due to the population of mongooses.
What is the biggest animal that anacondas have eaten?
Diet consist of (depending on the size of the anaconda, the larger the snake the larger the prey) large/small rodents like capybaras, also pigs, caiman, jaguars, deer, dogs, birds even fish and is acquired by ambushing with a quick strike, 100 rear-facing sharp teeth hold the prey while suffocating it with constriction.
General information!
Anacondas Scientific classification.
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Subphylum: Vertebrata
Class: Reptilia
Order: Squamata
Suborder: Serpentes
Family: Boidae
Subfamily: Boinae
Genus: Eunectes
The question what is the biggest snake can be confusing, the biggest as far as girth (largest being measured at 44 inches or 1,1176 m) is the Green Anaconda, on average anacondas are more then 20 ft (6.09 m) long with and average weight of 300+ pounds (136.08+ kg) many reaching lengths of 29ft ( 8.83 m) or more, with a weight of over 550 lbs ( 249.48 kg), in terms of length then and only then will the Reticulated Python exceed the anaconda, the longest python was measured at 33 ft ( 10.05 m) but even this python can't match the total mass of the anaconda.
Anacondas are members of the Boidae family of reptiles and spend most of their time in rivers and swamps of the Amazon Rainforest in South America which makes them excellent swimmers and are capable of holding their breath for around 15 minutes, female anacondas are generally 3 to 4 times larger then the males and bear their young live and are called "Neonates", the number of young varies, some have produced 100 babies, but the average is between 20 to 40 babies which are about 24 inches (0.6 m) long, they stay with the mother for about and hour then leave to be on their own. Diet consist of (depending on the size of the anaconda, the larger the snake the larger the prey) large/small rodents like capybaras, also pigs, caiman, jaguars, deer, dogs, birds even fish and is acquired by ambushing with a quick strike, 100 rear-facing sharp teethhold the prey while suffocating it with constriction, (the anaconda is so powerful it generally crushes it's prey) then swallowing it whole and by using it's muscles in a rhythmic fashion it works the food toward its digestive area, the digestion of the anaconda is very slow thereby allowing it to survive without food for well over a year.
Anacondas have around a 10 to 12 year year life span in the wild, in captivity some have reached 20 + years, the biggest threat to it is man and loss of their habitat.
How poisonous are black mambas?
The venom of Black Mamba is both a myotoxin and a hemotoxin which can quickly cause muscle tremors, affects breathing, and destroys red blood cells. These snakes can easily be 8-10 feet long and can travel along the ground in an upright position of about a meter in height. People who have been bitten can easily be struck in the chest and neck area which in turn can cause quick convulsions and death. Medical treatment asap with an anti-venom is an absolute necessity.
What is the life span of a black racer snake?
Type your answer here... There is a black racer that has lived in our woods
(which is almost pristine) except for our home. We have seen "him" and his
shed skin on occasional years for over 15 years. He is at least 5 feet in length
and quite "heavy looking". Probably 2 inches in diameter for a considerable
portion of his body. And he can move fast. Our two cats (obviously) know to keep their distance. We've never killed any snake hereabouts except two
copperheads, and that over a period of over 40 years. We have a stream on our property which is 7 acres, which borders another rather natural 10 acres.
This guy is lucky, as are many of "our" other wildlife (including deer) who
hang around. bye
Does black mamba contain THC or canniboids?
No its smell is closer to oregano
How ever the Taste of it is closer to cheep Mexican Shwag.
Generally The pythons dwell in dense forests, far from the human establishment.Humans are not their natural prey item.May be due to the fact that we are bipedal and stands tall for a python's liking to swallow whole,on the contrary who might prefer swallowing a creeping four footed animal otherwise. But incidents are there where humans has been devoured by pythons. But its very much unlikely that a python would attack a human intentionally.
The Black Mamba gets its name - from the colour of the lining of the inside of its mouth. The overall colour of the snake's skin is olive green - but - the inside of its mouth is jet black.
What animal group does a grass snake belong in?
Basically they're reptiles and belong to Chordata phylum.
The second most poisonous snake in the world?
The most venomous snake on earth is the Belcher's Sea Snake (Hydrophis Belcheri) or the Faint Banded Sea Snake, some consider the Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) an/or the Beaked Sea Snake (Enhydrina schistosa) to be the most toxic, however, with recent and more accurate studies prove the Belcheri has a 100 times more toxic venom then the two above or any other snake on earth.
It has a paddle-like tail, breathes air and can hold it's breath up to 8 hours, a few milligrams of venom can kill over a thousand people.
It's habitat is a wide range in the South Pacific.
Excluding the Belcher's Sea Snake the next most venomous snakes on earth according to their venom rating are:
2- Inland Tiapan (Oxyuranus Microlepidotus).
3- Common Indian Krait (Bungarus Caeruleus).
4- Philippine Cobra (Naja Philippinensis).
5- King Cobra (Ophiophagus Hanna).
6- Russell's Viper (Vipera Russellii).
7- Black Mamba (Dendroaspis Polylepis).
8- Yellow Jawed Tommygoff (Bothrops Asper).
9- Multibanded krait (Bungarus Multicinctus).
10- Tigar Snake (Notechis Scutatus).
11- Jararacussu (Bothrops Jararacussu).
Why do king cobras make nests for their young?
King Cobra's "claim to fame" is the fact that they are the only snake to construct a nest for the sole purpose of laying their eggs. A King Cobra Nest is constructed by the female typically from rotten leaves and vegetation. The female King Cobra will loop her coils over loose debris and drag the material to create her nest. In most cases, a Cobra nest is nothing more then a simple pile of leaves mounded above the ground where she will lay between 40 and 60 eggs. In some cases however, maybe due to experience, the female actually constructs a lower "Egg Chamber", with an upper area for her to lay and incubate. King Cobra eggs incubate after 65 to 80 days.

What is the difference between the body movement of snails and snakes?
Both are members of the mollusk group and are similar except slugs lack the external shell. They move by gliding along on a mucous-secreting muscle. The dried mucous becomes a silvery slime trail that tells you they have been dining in your garden. The common brown garden snail (Helix aspera) was brought to California as a culinary source from France in the 1850s. Moisture is critical to their survival and is why they are active only at night or during cloudy days. On sunny days they are hiding in moist, shady places. During hot, dry weather they seal themselves off with a membrane while attached to tree trunks, fences or walls. During cold weather, they hibernate in the topsoil. They are among the first pests to begin feeding in spring and the last to stop eating your plants in fall.
The adult snail and slug each lay a mass of about 80-100 eggs and they may do this up to 6 times a year. The eggs resemble small pearls (about 1/8 inch); they can be seen about 1 inch below the soil level or under rocks, boards or plant debris and they hatch when they come in contact with moisture. It takes about 2 years for snails to mature but slugs mature in 1 year. The garden snail may live as long as 12 years but slugs only live about 2 years. Given all this, it is easy to see why there are huge numbers of these pests in the garden. Eliminating as many as possible requires persistence.
Snails and slugs damage plants by chewing irregular holes with smooth edges in leaves. They also chew young plant bark, seedlings and fruits that are close to the ground such as strawberries and tomatoes. Citrus trees are especially susceptible.
How much does rattlesnakes usually weigh?
There are about 16 diffrent types of them, so it really depends on what one? But the rattle snakes average weight is (5lbs) or the maximum it can reach is (10lbs).
There are numerous species of Rattlesnakes and most of them are of the average size and weight. They are usually around 3 to 4 feet tall with some large adults growing to be above the 4 feet length. The Eastern Diamond back is the largest of the Rattlesnake species and is around 7 feet in average length and weight around 12 to 15 kilograms. All other Rattlesnake species are much smaller and lighter than the eastern diamondback.
How big will a king snake grow?
Depends on the species. Average size for a California King snake adult is around 5 feet.
Of course, the snakes of the world all have scales because they are cold blooded, if they were warm blooded, they would be a mammal and they would probably have fur, so, yes, snakes do have scales.
What to do if a giant snake attacks you?
run and then quickly turn around and kick or punch it hard in the chest or ribs. It makes it hard for the dog to breathe and almost stuns it for a while so it gives you time to run away. Try to find a place were the dog can't reach you like insdie a house or on the other side of a fence.
Why do snakes swallow their food whole?
They wrap around there prey until it dies then eats it whole. What kind of birds does the black mamba eat?
The Black Mamba eats all kinds of mice or rodents. This deadliest snake in the world can kill a rodent in as short as 4.5 minutes.
That depends on the species. A baby garter or ribbon snake may eat a moth with the wings removed (obviously, they won't catch it if it's flying out-of-reach). On the other hand, a baby ball python or boa constrictor will be eating something the size of a baby mouse as soon as they've hatched.
Do snakes feed young their young with milk?
where would it get the milk? A snake is a reptile, so its yong are on their ow and eat meat from the begining. In other words, No.
Snakes hiss by exhaling air hard from the mouth, much the same way a cat or an alligator would.
Hope it helps. :3
