The dugite (Pseudonaja affinis) is a species of snake found in Australia, primarily characterized by its slender body and distinct coloration. The life cycle of a dugite begins with egg-laying, as they are oviparous, meaning females lay eggs in sheltered locations. The eggs typically hatch after about 50 to 60 days, producing juvenile snakes that are independent from birth. As they grow, dugites undergo several molts and can live for several years in the wild, reaching sexual maturity at around 2 to 3 years of age.
Full-grown rabbits are rather large for most snakes, but many snakes will prey on baby rabbits, and some of the larger snakes can eat adult rabbits.
