What is the longest copperhead snake on record What is the longest recorded copperhead snake onrecord?

I am deeply concerned about the safety of the place on K. C. for anyone who ventures outside the area mowed by a lawn mower. We have been killing copperheads like flies around there. Two large copperheads were at the back of the yard near the pear tree. They were large and both got away. Another one got away that was near the Log building in the yard. I killed one--about half grown-- at the barn on my last trip there. Last night I received a call from David--My neighbor who looks after the place for me-- and he advised that he had just killed a copperhead at the barn. The largest copperheads are no longer than 28 inches. This one was thirty eight and one half inches in length and two inches in diameter. That is by far the biggest copperhead I have ever heard of from anyone.
