What kind of snake is black about 24 long with beige rings?
It could be a juvenile so you wont be able to know. Do you know where it's native or where it was seen?
What snake is black with red ring around neck in southern CA?
I'd think a Ringneck snake (Diadophis punctatus). Normally the ring is yellow, but I know a few localities have a reddish ring. They are rear-fanged venomous (opisthoglyphous), as are many Colubrids, but their venom is largely ineffective on humans and poses no severe threats. Plus, because they are rear fanged, they would have to "chew" their venom into you. In short, harmless.
Will a chicken kill a copper head snake?
It is unlikely. It is more likely that venomous copperhead would kill the chicken.
Can you pick up a snake after it eats?
No... There is a very high likelihood the snake will regurgitate its meal. This is not only wasteful (as the food cannot be reused) - but may also be detrimental to the snake (it's similar to a human vomiting !). Snakes should be left alone for at least a week after feeding - to allow them to digest their meal.
Yes they do ! They can only eat baby hippos though, as the grown up ones are too big. See video for proof !
Edit: Regarding the video - note the snake had to be tormented into re-gurgitating the hippo - The actions of the people were not only cruel, (in forcing the snake to spit out its meal) but highly irresponsible ! The snake would NOT 're-swallow' the animal - but would go back into 'hunt mode' and have to look for another meal !
What type of snakes eat the scarlet macaw?
Oh, dude, you're talking about the Harpy eagle! They're like the apex predator of the rainforest, snacking on those vibrant scarlet macaws like they're at a fancy buffet. It's like a real-life game of "Hungry Hungry Hippos" but with majestic birds and badass eagles.
How do shore pit vipers reproduce?
In general, female snakes are resistant to mating.
Usually, the male will hold down the female snake with its head, while trying to align its penis with the female's cloaca. When they are aligned (which demands bif effort on the male's part) the male will penetrate the female with one or two penises (known as hemipenes). Tipically, the mating time will last for an hour.
After that, the male will stay with the female for more two or three days, where they will copulate a couple more times.
As shore pit vipers are ovoviparous, they will not lay their eggs, but hatch them inside their body.
I am going to use the rattlesnake and the cobra for my examples...
If you are walking on a dirt path on a hiking trail with, say, your wife and you suddenly hear the sound of a baby rattle - the ones that babies like to shake just to shake it... You might be in a little bit of trouble. That's the warning alarm from the rattle snake... And if your wife is like most women (afraid of snakes).. She'll freak. When an enemy comes near (in our instance - YOU), the rattlesnake shakes its rattle to say "I know you're there. Don't come any closer." I would take the snake's advice - because odds are, you don't want to be bitten. Rattlesnakes strike after they give you their little warning rattle - it's just saying "Well - you're asking for it. Might as well give it to you."
The best thing to do if you hear a rattle is to back away slowly. Don't try to go any closer - even though it may be tempting. Rattlesnake bites are not some silly joke. They're poisonous snakes. Just stay as far away from them as you can.
For cobras, they tend to almost "stand up". They stretch their body upwards and their head tilts slightly down, a complicated death stare, really. The likelihood of anyone in the city encountering a cobra on the attack is very low.. But we should all know that we don't want to get a cobra bite, right? Rhyme. :) They're even more poisonous than rattlesnakes!! Deadly, actually!! Best thing to do in a situation that a cobra is looking AT you and "standing up"... Slowly back off. DON'T go any closer. It won't turn out well for you. Nobody wants to die because of a snake, right? I mean - we have arms and legs and they don't. And we have opposable thumbs. Don't be stupid! Just leave the snakes alone! :)
Hope this helped!! :) Xx Blessings!
Why do people watch snake charmers?
Kicks! and an aura of danger. it is only more alluring if the Snake Charmer is a young Lady. Same goes for animal acts- and stunts involving motorcycles, aircraft, whatever. My Old man once helped a girl who was seriously injured in a Carnival mishap. He went to visit her in the hospital, she confided- Mr. (Blank) those men congregating around the tent- they wanted to see me in dire straits- and some were laughing! Then, conversely, there are women who enjoy watching Boxing matches.
