What will happen if you take 1 percocet and 2 Tylenol pm's?

You will sleep with little or no pain, for quite a few hours :} Percocet is a pain reliever for moderate to severe pain. While beginning users report drowsiness, some chronic patients experience the opposite effect -- wakefullness. However... Tylenol PM contains a goodly dose of diphenhydramine (more often know by the brand name Benadryl); a first generation antihistimine that acts as a strong soporific -- it'll make you sleep (and without the potential dangers of other sleeping meds). The down-side is that diphenhydramine can keep you drowsy well into the next day.

How is Tylenol eliminated from the body?

Tylenol enters your body through your mouth, into your stomach than into your blood stream to stem pain activity. Make sure you read the instructions on the box before you use it to ensure that you do not over use this medication.

What happen when you overdose with paracetamol?

depends how much.... anything up to about 12 tablets in a day nothing will happen, from 12-20 you'd probly feel sick and maybe have a headache and feel dizzy. over 20 tablets for a small to average size person and you are getting toward toxic levels. severe paracetamol overdose can cause liver failure if not treated within the first 12-24 hours.

Can you take pethidine tablets and Paracetamol together?

Yes, pethidine (meperidine) and paracetamol (acetaminophen) can generally be taken together, as there are no direct contraindications between the two medications. However, it is essential to follow a doctor's guidance regarding dosages and timing, as both medications can have side effects and interactions, especially in individuals with certain health conditions. Always consult a healthcare professional before combining medications.

What are benefits of acetaminophen?

Why use analgesic over morphine? In very simple terms, doctors will use as little pain reliever as necessary to make the patient comfortable.

To look further, opiates are addictive and may require either direct withdrawal or a prolonged slow withdrawal designed to avoid the worst effects.

Morphine has several distinct and often troubling side effects that are lacking in a common analgesic**. The usual side effects are constipation, sexual dysfunction, and a lack of energy. These can be mild or severe depending on the individuals tolerance. If short term releif is needed and the pain is severe, morphine may be indicated. Generally, about three weeks of continued use is needed to produce withdrawal symptoms which may be severe and difficult to endure. Commonly, the withdrawal is said to be somewhat like a bad case of the flue and may last up to 10 days.

Asprin is an analgesic but has dangerous and even fatal overdose potential. 4000mg/day being an upper limit.

Morphine--or any of the opiates--when taken in higher than prescribed doses can paralize the diaphragm causing the patient to die of respritory failure... or wind up in the hospital with a mouthful of charcoal and a tube in the stomach.

Will Tylenol PM make you test positive on a urine test?

How long after a glass of wine can you take Tylenol?

Depending on how many you took. If it was 1 or 2 regular strength, just wait a few hours (4-5) and a drink or two will be fine. If you're planning to go on an alcohol binge though, then you should wait a lot longer, 12 hours at the very least as you could damage your liver irreparably and that is one important piece of meat you don't want to lose.

If you took a sizeable amount of tylenol, then you should also wait a couple of hours before you drink alcohol, unless you think it's worth the risk of screwing up one of your top 5 most important organs.

Besides, it's not even that good of a buzz, mixing the two.

Does Tylenol have ibprophin?

No, the active pharmaceutical ingredient is N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide. That is shortened to Acetaminophen in the US and Paracetamol just about everywhere else.

Can you mix lorazepam with Tylenol pm?

I will tell you from personal experience with Valium that since it is notorious for causing bad fatigue, head cloudiness, and, depending on the dosage, potentially extremely poor ability to concentrate and temporary anterograde amnesia while you are on it (as in, somebody can tell you something, and then five minutes later you forget what they said. It's very scary), I would not personally recommend that you combine it with Tylenol PM which relies on diphenhydramine; an antihistamine found in most OTC cold medicines, to help you sleep because antihistamines are also well-known to cause poor concentration, extreme head cloudiness, and sleepiness. They basically both do the same kind of thing to you as far as bad side effects from the sedation of your nervous system. The only difference is that Tylenol PM also relieves pain and Valium doesn't. Also, just a cautionary note: Valium is a benzodiazapine and can become extremely addictive if taken daily for too long, even at a steady prescribed dosage, whereas Tylenol PM would be highly unlikely to cause addiction, but could harm your liver if used daily for too long because of the acetaminophen in it, so just be VERY careful with your usage of either one! In any case, I don't know why you are taking either of these things, but I can't imagine why you would want to actually combine them. That does not sound like a good idea at all.

What should you do if your dog ate Tylenol?

First you should determine if the dog is in danger. Tylenol is sometimes given to dogs as a medicine, but an overdose is toxic, just like with people. The LD50 (dose that kills 50% of animals that receive it) for Tylenol is a little over 1000 mg / kg in dogs. If you know how much the dog ate, divide the dose in mg by your dog's weight in kg. If the number is close to 1000, then your dog is in danger of dying (I would be concerned if it was over 500, but I can't find an LD10 number for acetaminophen in dogs so can't say for sure).

In a 1994 study published in the Journal of American Veterinary Medicine, acetaminophen toxicosis may occur in dogs after ingestion of 150 mg/kg (~2 regular strength tablets/10 lb dog) or in cats after only 50-60 mg/kg (~1 regular strength tablet/cat). In dogs, lethargy, anorexia, abdominal pain, and vomiting may occur acutely with recovery in 48-72 hours in mild to moderate cases. In more severe cases, liver damage, jaundice , weight loss, and death may ensue. In cats, anorexia, hypersalivation, and vomiting may occur within 1-2 hours postingestion progressing to depression, cyanosis, dyspnea, facial swelling, and death

If your dog overdosed, take it to the vet immediately. There are treatments for Tylenol poisoning, but they need to be administered quickly - the longer you wait the less effective the treatment will be.

If for some reason you absolutely can't go to the vet, buy some milk thistle extract, standardized for silymarin content, from the drug store and give it to the dog - maybe around 800mg of silymarin. Milk thistle extract is quite effective at protecting the liver and will limit damage, but again, it would have to be administered quickly.

Can you take Dilaudid and Tylenol together?

Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is a strong opiate that does not contain Tylenol (acetaminophen). Therefore, you should be able to take it with Tylenol.

However, medications that already contain acetaminophen (such as Vicodin, Percocet, and Norco) should NOT be taken with Tylenol.

The reason for this is because an overdose of Tylenol can very likely cause damage to the liver.

Will acetaminophen-codeine help a cough and cold for a child?

Adult formulations have more Tylenol(acetaminophen) in them than childrens' codeine/APAP syrups and could be lethal to a child. It is not worth the risk. Codeine is a cough suppressant, but, again, it is dangerous to give children adult medications. It is illegal to give anyone prescription medication if it is not prescribed for that person. For colds, nutritional support and increased fluids are helpful and for coughing, there are OTC cough medications or "steaming in the shower/bathroom" alternatives...until you can get pediatric medication.
