Tylenol 3 contains codeine. The amount of codeine can vary depending on where you buy it or what you are prescribed. Second, alcohol is a depressant, and when combined with other depressants (codeine) can cause respiratory failure and death.

*DO NOT* consume more than 1 gram of acetaminophen at a time. At maximum, you should take 1 gram of acetaminophen every 6 hours.

*DO NOT* consume more than 4 grams of acetaminophen a day. Acute acetaminophen poisoning is by far the number one reason of liver failure in the united states.

*DO NOT* consume more Tylenol 3 than your doctor and the label recommends.

*DO NOT* use Tylenol 3 for anything other than alleviating pain, and don't use it for longer periods of time. Codeine, among other opiates, is very addictive. Opiate addiction completely ruins many people's lives. You must ask yourself, do you want to chain yourself to an addiction that will destroy you?
