Does tri-lo-sprintec help acne?
I recently switched from Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to Tri-lo-sprintec and I am actually breaking out more. I am diabetic and I asked my doctor if my increase in breakouts was related to my diabetes. When I told her that I had switched birth controls she believed it was most likely my new birth control causing the breakouts. I have only been taking the Tri-lo-sprintec for two months but I have never had such bad breakouts. I don't know if this will eventually stop but I am seriously considering going back on the Ortho. One of the side effects listed on the Tri-lo-sprintec website is acne and oily skin.

Thank you so much! I was very worried about it at first (I didn't know what it was and I'm a paranoid person especially about those kind of things) but mine seems to be pretty mild and hopefully it will go away with warm salt water. I can't think of anything "bad" that it could do to it? Will it hurt? I know salt hurts in cuts/infections/etcetera but helps them. But still, will it hurt a little? :-\
My best guess is a puss pocket, the "pimples" growing are soon to be puss pockets. A puss pocket is a white gross think on ur throat that carries infection. The best way to get rid of it is gargle with warm salt water about twice a day, when you wake up and when you go to bed, this will kill all the germs that are infecting your throat. It may takes a few days to go away. You know when the infection is out cuz it falls out and usually you spit it out. (Gross) I suggest keep gargling for a little bit after the white dots are gone. This will keep the germs away. For me I had a really sore throat after they were gone and it hurt every time i swallowed.. but that was a while after... I hope this was useful :D

a disease that makes your nipples fall off and eventually kills you
Try washing them like you would pimples on your face. Many stores and brands carry body scrub lines of products. Try un-cented, no-oil, little lotion ones. These are less likely to cause any pore clogging or rashes or irritations. Scrub off the dead skin that could get trapped in pores. Wear lighter clothing that won't keep sweat against your body, allowing bacteria to grow and infiltrate pores. Applying a topical over-the-counter acne medication can help, too.
In most cases peanuts do not cause acne. This is because researchers have concluded there is no proper diagnosis for acne. There are several factors that contribute to it. Certain types of food intake like eating too much junk food, eating oily food and reducing the number of watery vegetable and fruits weakens your skin cells and damages them which opens your skin to acne vulnerability.

How does acne effect teen lives?
It can cause them to be VERY self conscious. I used to have acne and I wouldn't talk to people just so they wouldn't have to look at me.
No. There is no food or beverage that can cause acne, so the old myth of chocolate or pizza causing acne is very untrue; and the same thing goes for alcohol. Acne is always caused by excess androgen, a male hormone produced in the adrenal glands in both men and women, which stimulates the sebaceous glands (oil glands). Acne is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the sebaceous glands. Acne occurs when hair follicles become plugged with sebum (oil), dead skin cells and a bacteria called propionibacterium (or P. acnes bacteria). This anaerobic bacteria flourishes in the absence of oxygen, irritates and inflames the hair follicle lining and causes the sebaceous gland to clog. Sebum continues to produce and is trapped with the bacteria under the skin, along with pus, which is the by-product of bacterial overgrowth. this can produce a potential rupture leading to acne lesions.
Causes of acne are hormonal changes, genetics, emotional stress, medication (ie: Birth Control), greasy or humid environment, steroids, hormonal changes during pregnancy, or onset of puberty, or skin surface friction or irritation.

I have been taking Yaz for about a year now, and I haven't noticed any difference in my acne at all. I started taking it with Accutane, and while the Accutane helped my acne significantly, I still have mild breakouts, and the Yaz does nothing about them.
I also think you might need to know what my doctor told me last week. Apparently, Yaz is under scrutiney for it's semi-dangeous side effects. Mainly, the dosage of preogesterone causes you to you retain postassium, which is really bad for your heart, and it causes a lot of intense emotional side effects. This pill also apparently decreases your libido, if that matters to you. My doctor was so concerned he changed me to a different pill, called Loestrin Fe. It's supposed to do all the same that Yaz promises, including clearer skin, without the side effects.
I have noticed a few of the emotional side effects and I decided it would be good to get off Yaz, to see if it changes. I am also concerned about the potassium. That's really not good for you.
I think you should be able to find another low dose birth controll pill that doesn't have the side effects Yaz does. My sister takes Loestrin and says it works great for her skin.
