We are in the process of starting a class action lawsuit we are students.

I started at UOP in May. I completed orientation, but they said they didn't receive my final assignment in orientation, even though I know that I turned it in. There were "several problems" that day. I called tech support got a ticket number and turned it in. Needless to say. no one ever contacted me back about it and I had to repeat orientation all over. This happened to another student that I know of as well.

No supervisor would ever call me back either. I finished my second orientation and began my first block of classes but withdrew after 12 days. They are harassing me for a $2000.00 fee they say that I owe for 2 weeks of classes. I was made to take out $9000 in student loans and I qualified for $5350 in Pell Grants. They told me that I was going to end up owing for the next block of classes!! There was no way!

I also noticed that I was completing my assignments on time, logging in and posting a lot more than any other student in my class, but my teachers and counselors were sending me messages saying that my attendance was falling behind. I was also getting lower grades on assignments that I knew were 100% correct. When I would try to talk to my teachers about it, I would either get spoken to like i was an idiot or I wouldn't get a response at all. My teachers were hardly ever on there and would call and harass me 2-3 times a day at least 4 days out of the week.

I was taking on-line classes because I thought it would be better with my schedule, but it turns out I was on-line 7 days a week at least 4 hours a day. I withdrew a couple months ago, and I am being harassed by email, phone and regular postal mail. I receive letters saying they will settle my bill for $500 if I pay right now; then another one will come saying that I owe $2200. I have sent them emails asking them not to contact me anymore, but they keep doing so. I have had to change my phone numbers because they wouldn't leave me alone. NOW I am receiving threatening letters via email from Austin De Rossie about my unpaid balance. They are going to sue me, report me to corporate, send my balance to all credit agencies. I have kept every single thing I have ever done on UOP, because I had a feeling they were SHADY!

I also had a classmate that withdrew on the same day as me, and they are doing the same things to her. I am being threatened that I will not be able to attend another school until I pay my balance with them. I could go on and on about this so called school, there needs to be something done!! I know there are hundreds of people like me out there with some of the same issues. How can we get this lawsuit going?

I have been an Uof P student for over a year now. I was told it was $8900 a year and have found out it is closer to $20,000. They also have raised tuition 3 times since May 2009 by $300. I have heard of increases that is to be expected but, they are usually around 3% and only once a year. I am leaving University of Phoenix as they have been deceptive with me and told me a bunch of lies to get me to enroll.
