I dont remember the name of the bad guy, but alex is sent to investigate a place were they mess around with plant genes and crop genes, and M16 sent him, then the guy that is the owner of the place teams up with a very rich guy who is plotting a natural disaster with the crops. so alex is sent out 2 stop him and theres a scene were he is caught and they hang him over crocodiles but an Indian spy comes and saves him. in the end the government bans m16 using alex as a spy again.

the 3rd book is skelton key it was actually the 1st book i read from the series got me hooked lol

If your talking about his physical appearance, it didn't change. At the end of the last book (Crocodile Tears) Alex turned 15. However, Alex is described to show pain and knowledge in his eyes way beyond his years. Basically, he changed from being a simple English schoolboy to a teen age spy who witnessed people being killed or doing horrible things. Also, although Alex has never directly killed anyone he was certainly responsible for several bad guys' deaths. All of that has taken a toll on Alex. You understand better the way Alex has changed if you read the books. It's hard to describe how much he changed throughout 7 books in just a couple sentences.

And hey, the series is not over. Horowitz said on his website that he planed on making more Alex Rider books.

After being caught, Alex escapes being stung by a giant jellyfish, and grabs a ride in a helocopter to London. Yassen Gregorovich comes and kills Sayle, but saves Alex from falling to the ground, many stories down below. That depends on what book you read last. There are seven so far the last one being Snakehead. Another one is due to come out sometime in October I think. Its called crocodile tears. After that another one will be coming out, but this will not really be about Alex It will be about Yassen and when he was young.
