Who makes the best FM radio?

C Crane Radio company has built a AM radio which had out performed all AM band radios on the market. The CC Radio Plus has a specially tuned audio amplifier to the human voice. Also the radio coupled with there twin coil ferrite antenna offers the best possiable reception of any AM radio. This antenna will pull in weak station and night time station that fade out and will double day time reception.

What is ham radio?

Ham radio operators use two-way radio stations from their homes, cars, boats and outdoors to make hundreds of friends around town and around the world. They communicate with each other using voice, computers, and Morse code. Some hams bounce their signals off the upper regions of the atmosphere, so they can talk with hams on the other side of the world. Other hams use satellites. Many use hand-held radios that fit in their pockets.

What does the temperature mark mean on electrical wire?

The temperature marking on a cable is highest temperature that the insulation may be exposed to in operation. It does not imply that the wire is suitable for operation at that temperature. What is does imply is that when cable heating due to current flow is taken into account with the applicable ambient temperature, there is a thermal limit that must taken into account.

When any wire carries current, it heats up a little. If the current density in the wire is very high, the wire gets hotter. At some combination of ambient and current-induced temperature, the insulation may sag, or it's electrical characteristics might change.

Say for example, that a wire is rated at 75C/170F and the ambient temperature is tropical (i.e. 40C/104F). In this case, the maximum allowed temperature rise in operation is 75C-40C=35C/167F-104F=63F.

Sometimes, high-temp cable is needed to survive operation in a cook-top or oven. Even some household light fittings get very hot in operation, such as halogen down-lights. Hence why they often have fibre-insulated wires (rated at 250C) running out to a connector. It is not uncommon for the bases of these lamps to reach 120C/248F on a Summer's day in the average ceiling.

What percent do you have to pass the ham radio test?

Not quite 75%. There are 35 questions on the Technician and General exams, of which 26 must be correct. There are 50 questions on the Amateur Extra exam, of which 37 must be correct.

How can you wire a ham radio into a Renault kangoo?

Any radio device, whether it's a transceiver or just a receiver, needs to connect

to the car's power (the 12V from the battery), to the car's ground (the frame),

and to an antenna.

We need to remind you that a license is required in order to operate a ham radio

transmitter. The reason we feel it necessary to include this remark is our knowledge,

from personal experience, that most people who have successfully passed the

examination and been granted an Amateur Radio license by the FCC or PTT

would know the answer to your question.

What takes longer chest or cheakers?

They can both be played in about the same amount of time, but Chess usually takes a bit longer than Checkers.

Can the western electric 205d tube be used as a preamp or input tube?

I checked the spec sheet for this tube, and it's good for two basic circuits: low-level amplifiers and oscillators. So yes, it would be fine as a preamp tube or an input tube.

How long does an average ARRL VEC test session last?

The ones I've been in as well as given has been between 1-2 hours depending on

the number of people taking the test as well as which licenses are being tested.

The Amateur Extra license is 50 questions compared to the 35 given for Technician

or General.

In many cases, those taking their Technician exam are encouraged to attempt the

General. So that takes a little more time taking two tests.

It's also important to mention that there is no time limit imposed for completion of

the test for an amateur operator's license. If you're working on a test, you get as

long as you want, and nobody can rush you.

What does CB stand for in CB radio communications between truckers?

CB = Citizens Band.

What makes it different from other radio "services" is not so much who is allowed to

use it, but the qualifications they have to meet in order to use it.

Other radio services, in other frequency bands, require a license in order to use a

transmitter in their band. The "Citizen's Band" is unique because the only requirement

is that the operator of the transmitter be a citizen of the USA. In other words, if you

can afford to buy the radio set and your thumb is strong enough to push the button

on the mike, then you can go right ahead, no license required.

That's the reason why, so often, the 27 MHz Citizen's Band sounds like the audible

equivalent of what a downtown city street would be like at rush hour if nobody there

had ever taken a driving test.

If transmitter power is increased from 200 Watts to 400 Watts how do you convert to Db form?

Decibels (db) is relative power, log base 2, times 3. Increasing power from 200 watts to 400 watts is doubling power, so the decibel change is +3 db.

800 watts would be +6 db, 1600 watts would be +9 db, 100 watts would be -3 db, 50 watts would be -6 db, and so on.

Is amateur radio dying out?

No, it is not dying out. in fact, with the growth of the Internet, it has become accessible to a wider range of people and the opposite is in fact true. it has even become incredibly easy to set up. all you need is radio automation software (Eg. Mixxx), Lame Encoder, and a server. just go to caster beta and you will find all the instructions, and its all free. it is now only costing people as much as the Internet costs to stream it all.

In my opinion, Amateur radio is fading because of the Internet, and other forms of communication that do not require a license. The simple truth is that the only fading is with appliance operators, glorified CB users with a license. Those numbers are fading, but not fast enough. The true radio amateur is an operator for life. There is much more to amateur radio than simple talk. Streaming over the Internet is not amateur radio, even though many use it. When conditions warrant, you will see the true amateur radio operators handling emergency communication, supplementing our local government emergency communication's. The internet will not be anywhere in site when that happens.

How do you replace yaesu ft-208r backup battery?

  2. At the bottom of the HT, flip the tab to unlock the battery cover.
  3. Remove the battery cover.
  4. Remove the battery.
  5. Inspect the battery connection nodes for corrosion. Use a light grit sandpaper to clean the nodes if necessary.
  6. Discard the old battery in accordance with your state and local disposal law.

What is the distance that a ham radio can travel?

The radio signal can travel to the moon, bounce off its face, and reach an operator on the other side of the world. You can even talk to the International Space Station!

What does DE mean in amateur radio?

It means "from" and it probably comes from the French word "de". It was adopted by Morse code operators because it is much faster to send "de" than "from".

At the close of a transmission, it means "this is."

When was the Morse discovered?

The Morse code was invented or discovered for telegraph use by Samuel F.B. Morse in about l84l/ There are differences between landline and radio (International) Morse in that some characters or codes are different. International Morse is the standard employed in Ham radio.Wireless telegraphy did not become feasible until l896 by Marconi. The popular cipher CW means continuous wave- and is applied to Code Traffic in Amateur Radio use.
