Can you take Wellbutrin and birth control pills together?

Hello,

Unfortunately I am not familiar with Wellbutrin. But I would recommend that you speak to your prescriber or pharmacist before taking prescribed medication with birth control.

I have attached a link for Wellbutrin, which should hopefully give you some more information about this medication.

Can you cut Wellbutrin in half?

If it is regular xanax yes you can but check with your pharmacist 1st. But if it is Xanax XR or ER you can not. XR/ER stands for extended release. Extended-release medications should never be cut, chewed, crushed or dissolved. In most cases, tampering with the tablet damages the mechanism by which the medication is released and you could end up with an overdose because too much is released into your system at once

Can citalopram be taken with adderall xr?

I have been on citalopram for about 14 years (since the age of 9) and recently was prescribed adderall in may 2011. (I say recent because it's the latest medication I've been put on, even though it's almost been a year).

I was always concerned about the citalopram having been on it so long and such a large dose (80mg/day) and I have been told by multiple doctors and pharmacists that it is one of the longest used and safest SSRI's available compared to the others. I use it to treat anxiety and thrichotilomania (compulsive hair pulling).

I read research on adderall helping relieve anxiety due to ADHD/ADD going untreated (I was diagnosed around the age of 5 with ADD) and never treated, which could in theory helped aid in the hair pulling to start along with severe anxiety ect.

LONG story short, I have yet to find a doctor who is concerned about the two being mixed. One regulates a chemical imbalance while the other stimulates a particular area of the brain.

Will your dosage need to be adjusted? That I don't know - I'm not a doctor, I just know what they tell me. I do know that since being on adderall I have not had to take my xanex or have not had panic attacks or large hair pulling bouts because of the stress that has been taken away from treating my adhd/add. 90% of my anxiety was from not being able to function well enough in college and pre college - focus on anything important - and was going through jobs like air. I was tested and in the top 1% of worse case ADHD in adults though - so it makes sense it's helping me so much.

To say the least it's worth trying them together with doctors consent - if you are taking the citalopram for the similar reasons as I. I don't know if I will be able to stop taking it or lower the dosage some day, but treating the ADHD has improved the quality of my life 200% - sad I waited until I was 24, lol, but better late than never.

Marijuana and Prozac drug interaction?

Prozac and marijuana are not a harmful combination; you won't feel any different and it does not harm you like alcohol and Prozac do. Marijuana can make you very paranoid, which is bad for people taking Prozac for anxiety disorders, but the feeling goes away if it comes at all, so I would say you should be fine.

""Prozac and Weed ARE a bad combination. i looked up this question early today, and i followed this advice above, that you "wont feel any different" . i have smoked lots of weed on welbutrine, seroquel, resperdol. and it wasnt very bad, besides the nervous tics. but when i smoked 2 puffs of good weed this afternoon, while im on 20 MG Prozac, it went ok the first 15 minutes, but then it went downhill very very quick, I got VERY confused, emotional, moody, VERY extremly depressed, i have never experienced a darkness quite like this, please just don't do it, every kind of weed is different and we are all different, and we can never ever know how it will react. and what i experienced was very intense and messed up, and i am a fairly stable person, it was all the medication mixed with weed messing with my emotions and mind, and the chemicals, my moods were off the chart, from very confused one minute, 2 seconds later i would get sad and very dark, and then happy happy joy joy.. if this sounds fun, well, then try it. but u really shouldn't.""

Actually the first person to answer your question is correct. To feel the effects of medicines like Prozac, Celexa, a generic form, or Citalopram, another generic form, you must take the medicine everyday for at two weeks so the SSRI's or the serotonin-specific reuptake inhibitors build up enough in your brain to help relieve mild anxiety. Just taking a pill of Prozac and smoking weed will not cause horriffying effects

-------------------

The most important thing you need to understand is that Prozac dosage has to be evaluated almost constantly for the first 8 weeks or so after starting it or altering the dosage. What this means for your question about mixing cannabis with it is that you certainly should not take cannabis for that 8 week period. Also keep in mind that during or even at the end of that 8 week period your doctor may want to alter the dosage. This is actually quite common and what that means is it could be quite a while before you can think about taking cannabis after starting out on Prozac.

However, I guess part of the answer would have to include the fact that you should never take Prozac with alcohol as this can cause serious anger problems. So if you have been on your dosage for more than 8 weeks and are thinking of taking cannabis very rarely as an alternative to alcohol you might like to try a very small amount to see how it goes. But I must re state that this should never be done within the first 8 weeks of a new dosage.

Keep in mind that you started on Prozac due to problems being able to cope in society and that if your dosage is correct you should not really need another drug to have a good time any more. You might find a soft non-alcoholic drink would be a better option at parties. Get the dosage of Prozac right and you should be both confident and happy, this is why it is important not to mess with other drugs. It is hard to correctly gauge your dosage when your messing up your mind using other stuff.

Can you drink alcohol while taking Zoloft?

If you drink on a regular basis, you will get accustomed to it, over Christmas break I had a lot of partying nights and actually was able to drink more while on Zoloft ( 100mg/day) than without it. If you don't normally drink often though, 2 beers will get you drunk. Just be careful and really pace yourself if you decide you are going to drink against the cautions of your doctor and the directions for taking it.

I am currently on 100mg of zoloft and i drink either Friday or Saturday night pretty heavily (just one night a week) and to start off with it makes me get drunk ten times faster than before I was on the zoloft. I get more stupid and also pass out quicker and am very tired. It doesn't say not to take the two together my doc says it just intensifies the effect.

Answer

It is recommended that you do not drink while on sertraline/Zoloft. Alcohol is a depressant, and conflicts with your brain whilst taking anti-depressants.

However, the affects of alcohol with Zoloft depend on the person for the most part. I have been taking Zoloft for several months, and I drink quite a bit. For the first week of being on the medication I didn't drink at all; then I started to drink heavily. The only effects of this I noticed were that the alcohol took to my system much more quickly, meaning I got drunk a lot quicker than normal, and that when I stopped drinking I would sink quite badly into depression. I've now been able to control this a bit better by going to bed straight away after drinking.

However I know that other people on the same medication react differently to it, but on the whole the effects seem to be similar. I am not a medical professional and I have no experience in the department except my own experience on Zoloft. In short, it's fine to do it, but you will get drunk faster and may suffer from depression badly afterwards.

AnswerNot a good idea. It may cause some serious side-effects. Answermy friend had a zoloft prescription and had alchohol the other night just a couple beers, and you will get drunk, with the smallest amounts of alchohol in your system.

He got very pale, tired, add an extreme case of uncontrollable vomiting, which i had to clean up.

Answeryou are taking a SSRI. it loads serotonin into your brain which makes you happy. alcohol is a depressant. so what that means is. your therapy with the SSRI will cease to be effective. then you will start thinking that the medication doesn't work. but the real reason it's not working is because you are drinking. so that's why it's not smart to drink when taking an anti-depressant.

Is Prozac a drug used to treat ADD?

No; Paxil is brand-name paroextine and is used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. Paroxetine has shown no benefit in treating ADHD, however it is sometimes prescribed in addition to another medication used to treat ADHD if depression exists. In some cases, depression can cause lack of focus with is unrelated to having ADHD; taking Paxil can cause a person who was previously depressed to be able to focus.

Can you mix Zoloft and excedrin?

There are no direct physical dangers from mixing Zoloft and Ecstasy (MDMA). Zoloft (or to use its chemical name, Sertraline) is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), the same class of anti-depressants as Prozac (Flouxetine), Celexa(Citalopram Hydrobromide), Luvox (Fluvoxamine), and Paxil (Paroxetine). These chemicals will actually reduce or even completely eliminate the effects of Ecstasy when the two are taken together. Also Celexa in particular is sometimes used to treat cocaine-dependency and may reduce cocaine effects and craving.

How do you stop biting your tongue at night?

What can be done to stop biting a tongue in a persons sleep will depend on the reason for biting the tongue. If it is because of seizures, medications will need to be taken. Bruxism is another causes and a dental plate can be made to stop the tongue biting. Other disorders may be the issue and might need addressed. Can you take ginseng and Effexor together?

I'm not much of a specialist here, but it looks like these two have somewhat opposite effects. Ginseng ramps you up while an antidepressant calms you down. I wouldn't do that.

What are Wellbutrin sideeffects?

The first few days on 150 mgs twice per day kept me up until 3 in the morning and I had bad dreams. Otherwise I think it's a godsend. It's helped my depression without that numb, apathetic feeling you get from other medications. I've since quit smoking. It still keeps me up at night but it's slowly getting better. I find that going to the gym helps my sleep patterns. Do not consume lots of alcohol with Wellbutrin. I'd say 2 drinks max or you'll be toast.
