Arranged Marriages

There are some basic facts to be considered first of all. That, from the puberty, till the age of marriage, many youngsters suppress their desires set by the nature. In other words, sex starvation is ridiculously high in India.

Often, other difficulties in life too makes everyone inclined to have a soul mate, other than major love affairs that starts by physical attraction. So, in brief, any marriage, not arranged, can't be addressed as love marriage, because, few of them make a bond of love, while others will have their own reasons to find a partner by themselves.

Considering the deep sense of love leading to marriage, is often been a success all the time and others ends up in failure.

In brief, love marriages are always a success, and in India, all marriages other than arranged are not clearly a bond of love and rather, a physical attraction only. Infact, arranged marriages are too prone for failure and recent surveys shows dangerous reports for divorce rates in India.

In countries like India even today majority of the parents want their kids to get married to the same caste, religion, and whatsoever to save their family reputation in front of the society.

I dont think arranged marriages are done by a particular religion its done in some cultures. Western culture people prefer love marriage while in asian/indian culture generally arranged marriage is done..

Not all "Muslims" do. In the Middle East and Africa it is common. In places like America, most do not. It just depends on the family; many other cultures have arranged marriages and even Christians and Catholics have arranged marriages as well. These are very common in Asian cultures as well.

It may have different reasons, but the most reasonable one is because the young couple love each other to death and cannot leave each other.

Usually, arranged marriages forces the communion of two incompatible human beings and they a thereby forced to spend their lives together. In most cases these marriages are brutally unhappy because of the lack of true love and affection that comes from falling in love with someone in natural way.

One can only imagine being deprived of the natural emotion of falling in love. Most of us have felt it before and its truly an incredible feeling. That feeling that nothing else matters besides that single person you are so deeply in love with. In arranged marriages, the couples have to separate themselves from this wonderful emotion, unless they actually manage to fall in love with one another.

They were status-Quo in medieval Europe particularily among the Nobility.l The unwritten rule was nobody was to marry outside their caste or social ranking.In some ways, this backed up the custom. In the armed forces- marriages could only be between officers of the same rank category- For example a Lieutenant could not Marry a Sergeant ( one party would have to be a Wac, Wave, or equivalent, we are not considering homosexual unions here. This restriction on social partners has a sort of un-American ring, and outside of the Armed Forces , it is not practiced. Of course in some countries, there was a flip side, a Woman who ( civil here) would marry a Field Grade officer- such as a Major, would automatically become a Contessa! Not a bad idea, never would work in US, as we do not have titled nobility.

Any way you do or do not want to behave.There are no set rules that everyone has to follow.Just relax and enjoy in what the day has meant for the both of you and take it from there.I'm sure your husband will have some ideas of his own and if your o.k. with what he is suggesting then live in that momemt and go day by day from there.

A failed marriage is frowned upon in such societies, to the extent where in some cases a woman can be injured, disfigured or even killed for trying to escape the marriage or committing adultery. In some cases, though, love, or something that looks like it, can develop between the two, and in time they may not have an issue with the fact that their parents arranged the marriage.

How the marriage will be in life depends on two people. To make the marriage life better, it is necessary for both of them to understand each other. Love marriage and Arrange marriage both are better.

Marriages were sometimes arranged in the United States in the early 20th Century. Men who moved out West wanted to have wives so they looked in newspapers for singles' ads or posted singles' ads. First: It is a very beautiful ceremony. Second: It has very important significances. Third: it pleases the Jewish relatives and Christians like it too because it honors God almighty. Some mixed religion couples will use a Rabbi and a Christian Minister at the same time. They also sometimes choose to do both styles of ceremonies at the same time. Personally, even though I am a born again Christan I prefer the Jewish Ceremony.

Negative, Priscilla was 14 when they met. There was no "arranged marriage", they were arrangements for him to see her. In actuality they didn't even have sex until they were married, in which Priscilla was 21 or 22 at the time.

Yes, it certainly does. For instance East Indian Culture is the father picking the groom to wed his daughter, but if the children are brought over or born in a Western country it appears the parents hang onto the old ways of their culture while the children are Westernized and the fight is on. I live in British Columbia, Canada and not far from where I live a young East Indian girl (in her early 20s) was being forced by her parents to marry a man in his 70s because this old man was going to provide the family with a great deal of money. The daughter told her parents that she didn't want to marry him (she was Westernized), but, her father who was extremely stern said she had no say in the matter. Of course she tried to fight back and they sent her back to India to relatives in hopes once she saw her own culture in action she would stop misbehaving (as they considered it.) While there she met a young cart-boy and they fell in love. When she returned from India her father slapped her around and disowned her and told her she was marrying this older man and that was the end of it. Some how this young woman went back to India and started up her relationship with the young man she'd fallen in love with. It enraged her parents so much that the MOTHER sent an uncle over to India to kill the young man. The two lovers were on a small motor bike going along a deserted road and the uncle was in a car (with other men) following them and purposely hit the motor bike sending the two young people flying through the air. The young man was badly injured, but the young woman was thrown clear into soft sand. Thinking the young man was dead they ignored him, but the uncle went over to the young woman and told her she had to come home and be married as their culture dictated. At that moment he called her mother on his cell phone (the mother obviously must have been somewhere in India with her relatives, but smart enough to stay clear of any wrong-doing) and he said that her daughter refused to marry the old man. The words that came out of the mother even shocked the uncle "Kill her!" With that he slit the young girl's throat. Unfortunately, the police could do nothing in Canada regarding the mother, but did charge the uncle and he had to be punished in India (and was.) A similar culture to the above is some Asian cultures. The above is just an example of what can happen when a culture is introduced to Westernized ways. Some cultures aren't much different than Western Culture and Immigrants simply want peace and a better way of life so they meld into the Western ways well and still manage to hold on to some old traditions in their culture. Then there are religious beliefs, such as Jewish people marrying another Jewish person and not weakening the bloodlines. On and on it goes.

A definition of arranged marriages is, when two people are married because their parents decided that they would. However, the people the marriage is being arranged for do get a say, they get introduced to each other weeks before, it's not a blind wedding, you get to know them before hand, and also, if one of them strongly didn't like the other person, they are not forced to get married. This is where many people are mistaken: ARRANGED MARRIAGE IS NOT THE SAME AS A FORCED MARRIAGE. I think that there are mixed feelings about whether you would love someone that was chosen for you more than if you chose them yourself. The disadvantages of arranged marriages are: you don't really know your husband/wife; you probably will take a while to get relaxed around them, but it is believed that love comes after marriage. This is because the parents choose the husband/wife on horoscopes, their background, how they were raised, etc. and they pick people who are very similar, have very similar backgrounds and who are likely to get on well. love, hope :)
