Ativan (lorazepam) is a 1,4-benzodiazepine derivative. This class of drugs are also known as "classical" or "traditional" benzodiazepines as opposed to something like Xanax (alprazolam) which is a triazolobenzodiazepine. Valium (diazepam) is a classical benzodiazepine.
Ativan is indicated in the treatment and management of anxiety and anxiety related disorders, including panic attacks. It is also the drug of choice (neck and neck with diazepam, but disputed) in the treatment of convulsive seizures or status epilepticus (prolonged seizures lasting longer than 5 minutes, may be life threatening.)
Ativan is also used for inducing anterograde amnesia in dental/conscious sedation procedures. So the patient should have a safe driver home. Alcohol withdrawal (delirium tremens, hallucinations, etc.) respond to lorazepam. Ativan does not go through the liver like so many benzodiazepines as it passes through the kidneys more extensively making benefits for those with hepatic impairment. It has also been successfully used in children as well as elderly. Insomnia is also treated with Ativan. There are also off-label uses such as an anti-nausea/vomiting for chemotherapy.
Ativan comes in tablets, an oral solution, and injections.
Can you mix lorazepam with Tylenol pm?
I will tell you from personal experience with Valium that since it is notorious for causing bad fatigue, head cloudiness, and, depending on the dosage, potentially extremely poor ability to concentrate and temporary anterograde amnesia while you are on it (as in, somebody can tell you something, and then five minutes later you forget what they said. It's very scary), I would not personally recommend that you combine it with Tylenol PM which relies on diphenhydramine; an antihistamine found in most OTC cold medicines, to help you sleep because antihistamines are also well-known to cause poor concentration, extreme head cloudiness, and sleepiness. They basically both do the same kind of thing to you as far as bad side effects from the sedation of your nervous system. The only difference is that Tylenol PM also relieves pain and Valium doesn't. Also, just a cautionary note: Valium is a benzodiazapine and can become extremely addictive if taken daily for too long, even at a steady prescribed dosage, whereas Tylenol PM would be highly unlikely to cause addiction, but could harm your liver if used daily for too long because of the acetaminophen in it, so just be VERY careful with your usage of either one! In any case, I don't know why you are taking either of these things, but I can't imagine why you would want to actually combine them. That does not sound like a good idea at all.

Lorazepam (Ativan) has a long half-life, so it is a good choice for tapering, though diazepam is traditionally used. Getting off benzodiazepines is difficult no matter which one you taper with. Cut off your supply of Xanax and find someone to hold the Ativan for you so you aren't tempted to take more when things get rough.

Lorazepam does not typically affect INR (International Normalized Ratio) levels directly. However, since it is a benzodiazepine used for anxiety and sedation, it can interact with other medications that influence INR, particularly anticoagulants like warfarin. It's important for patients on anticoagulants to consult their healthcare provider before starting lorazepam to monitor for any potential interactions.

I assume so as my MD has me on both, 10 mg escitalopram (lexapro) once daily and 10 mg cyclobenzaprine (flexeril) 3 times daily as needed for back pain/acute muscle spasm. As a suggestion, I would not try it for the first time if I had to drive or watch children or something important as the mix could make you very sleepy.
