Yes, it definitely ok to take ativan before a cortisone shot. My neurosurgeon prescribed me 2 x 1mg ativan to take before my cortisione shot in my spine. No danger at all. All it will do is relax you but don't drive after, you have to be accompanied by someone and driven home in case it hits you a little more than you thought it would.

I've been taking fish oild every day with it. All seems well. I'm fine. I don't see how it would cause a problem, but then again I'm not a doctor. Like I said, I've been taking it for about a month along with fish out every morning.

Yes, it would cause respiratory depression, that is unless you weigh 1000 pounds and have a bowl of benzodiazepines for breakfast each morning. 2 mg of ativan makes me sedated and I have a tolerance to the stuff, so 50 times that dose... yeah you'd just stop breathing.

Im sorry, but the above answer is in correct, you can not hallucinate on Xanax ... it affects the same receptors in the brain that alcohol does. If you are not a benzo addict, you may feel maybe ... light headed ... wobbly .. kind of like tipsy ... but im sorry you wont see any pink elephants.

The only exception to that is in rare cases of paradoxical reactions, like in really young children (don't know why a little kid would ever take Xanax), elderly dementia patients, or people with preexisting mental health issues like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. But again, very rare.
