What if you have a child and you have a minor case of autism will the child get the genetic disorder aswell?

There's no such thing as a 'minor case of autism', you're either Autistic or you're not. If you are Autistic it is more likely that your children will be Autistic too as it is genetic.

In Alabama a woman dies without leaving a will and is survived by two adult autistic children does the person receiving Letters of Administration have the right to determine the fate of the children?

No. The person who receives Letters of Administration has the right to settle the estate only. The court should appoint guardians ad litem (for the two adult children) whose job is solely to protect and advocate for the best interests of those children in the settling of their mother's estate. The children should also have a permanent legal guardian appointed who can manage their affairs and sign legal documents on their behalf.

You need advice on how to handle any inheritance due to the children. Any assets they inherit should be placed directly into a special needs trust and should not come directly into their possession as individuals. The autistic siblings must receive some sort of government entitlement such as social security disability. When an individual who receives a government entitlement receives any assets it may affect their entitlement. In fact, it may disqualify them until the assets are spent. Someone should contact an attorney who specializes in special needs law or a local agency that provides legal assistance to people with special needs ASAP.

How do you get involed with autism speaks?

You wouldn't, not if you cared about Autistic people.

Autism Speaks is widely considered a hate group by Autistic people.

They use hate speech and propaganda about Autism to increase their profits, very little of their profits go towards helping Autistic people and their families, and instead Autism Speaks support 'curing' Autism which means preventing Autistic people being born. The organization has no Autistic people in their leadership, they refuse to listen to Autistic people who tell them that they are causing harm to the Autism community, they also support anti-vaccination movements, torture of Autistic children, and they sympathize with parents who murder their Autistic children.

If you're interested in helping Autistic people a better organisation to get involved with is the Autism Self Advocacy Network - this is run by and for Autistic people and does a lot more to help Autistic people than Autism Speaks ever has. Go to their web site and Facebook page to see what opportunities they have available to work with them or to do fundraising.

How do you tell a child about Asperger's Syndrome?

What and how you tell a child about Asperger's Syndrome will depend on the child's age and how much interaction he or she will have with a person who has Asperger's Syndrome. A child with a sibling or parent who has Asperger's Syndrome could see more characteristics of Asperger's Syndrome than one whose friend has it, and a child whose friend has it is likely to see more characteristics than one whose classmate has it. If it is a friend, discuss it with the parents of the friend to learn what characteristics the friend exhibits and what your child could do to help his or her friend. If it is a classmate, ask the school personnel what behaviors occur at school.

Some characteristics to cover are:

* misinterpreting meanings such as when taking words literally * sensory issues * adherence to routines such as wearing the same clothes or sitting in the same spot

Some of the more comprehensive websites on autism and Asperger's Syndrome have information on describing Asperger's Syndrome to children. Also, the book "Can I Tell You about Asperger Syndrome? A Guide for Friends and Family?" by Jude Welton is written for children. It might be available from your local library.

If you are telling a child that he or she has Asperger's Syndrome, see the related question below "How do you tell your child that she has Asperger's Syndrome?"

What would happen if a woman with autism is pregnant?

Like with any other woman, she would have a baby.

If she is Autistic it is more likely that her child would be Autistic too, but she could also have a neurotypical child or a child with another neurology - it also depends on the father of the child. She is also as likely to be able to care for a child as a neurotypical woman would be able to.

Do Cultures have an effect on Autism?

Yes. It is a matter of set and setting. An autistic person may think of his own culture to be rubbish. He might want to live a better life doing different things from what everyone else usually does. In the UK for instance, many people watch TV, drink alcohol, honor celebrities, have jobs and buy products. It can be a very boring world for them, especially when forced to live among them. Today's society needs to change far beyond mankind can ever give.

Does autistic disorder get better without treatment?

Yes, Autism does tend to improve with age as Autistic people learn social skills and coping methods to better deal with their Autism. Autism can effect people in different ways and to different severity throughout their lives, people who are supported and mainstreamed often improve vastly compared to people who are forced to try to behave like neurotypical people or put into special education.
