What is involve to be a dancer?

well... if you're in a dance company, you usually have to take at least one ballet class and one modern class. Tap and other genres of dance are optional. If you are just taking a class at a dance school/studio, then you usually have to take ballet in order to take tap or sometimes jazz. In order to go en pointe, you have to be dancing for years to get your feet and legs strong (and especially your core!). Most studios let their students go en pointe at age twelve, but some start earlier or later. Ballet schools sponsored by a professional company sometimes have students go en pointe at age nine. If the studio performs ballets such as The Nutcracker, Giselle, La Sylphide, Swan Lake, or Coppelia, then you must work very hard and do your best in every rehearsal. You want the teachers/choreographer to see that you are a valuable dancer.

Why are hyper-extended legs good for ballet?

Hyper-extended legs have a good side, and a bad side. First, the bad side (sorry haha) the bad side is that if they are too hyper-extended, a lot of tension can build up in your knees and that makes it painful to bend and straighten or have your leg straight for a long period of time. Over hyper-extended legs can also increase your chances of breaking or stress fracturing which can lead to breaking. You have to be careful and take good care of your knees if you have hyper-extends.

Now come the good part. C: The good news is is that your feet look really nice (the way the arch). They make your feet look a lot more pointed and they make your legs look longer. Hope that helps :)

Which is harder ballet or football?

Ballet is much harder than football. In football all they do is run around in tight pants and lots of padding. In ballet u preform. plus, u need strength, endurance, flexablity, grace, and more. plus, in ballet, you don't get any padding. it takes about 8 to 9 years to go en pointe. all u football players try to stand on ur toes for minutes at time. yah, u cant do it. in ballet u have to make everything graceful. if u fall, u fall onto a hard stage instead of football where u fall onto grass, plus in ballet u have 2 get right back up and keep dancing even if u broke ur ankle in the fall. i am a ballet dancer and i asked some football players how many days a week they spend at football and they all said 4. i spend 6 days a week, 10 1/2 hours dancing. in 100 years, people will remember george balanchine. if after reading this, i hope u understand how hard a sport ballet really is. if u still don't think it is that hard, i challenge u 2 take at least 3 ballet classes. you will be challenged.

What is the difference between En De Hors and En Dedan?

An en dehors (turn) is one that rotates away from the standing leg and an en dedans turn is one that rotates towards the standing let. So, if the left leg is the standing leg, an en dehors turn rotates clockwise when viewed from above and an en dedans turn rotates counterclockwise. The reverse is true if the right leg is the standing leg.
