Bats are mammals and are related to a wide array of animals such as hedgehogs, whales, camels, giraffes, pigs, dogs, cats and many others. The common ancestor of this diverse group isn't known.

Some bats live together in big colonies during the winter. Several hundred males and females may huddle for warmth, hanging upside-down in a cave or old building. In the summer, only females (girls) live together in a maternity (mother) colony of up to several hundred bats. Each mother bat has one or two babies in early summer. The babies cling to their mother's furry belly and drink milk. The mothers and babies all huddle together for warmth. If you ever find a "maternity" or "mother" colony, leave immediately. If you scare the mothers, they will probably drop their babies and accidentally kill them. Baby bats can fly after only one month, and are full grown after two or three months. They live from ten to thirty years.

Different Bats eat many different things , actually eating plain cardboard is unlikely, however they may chew up or chew through cardboard that has some sort of food residue.

Yes, in the metaphorical sense. Bats use echo location to form an image of their surroundings. They send out a chirp and they process the reflected sound. If you want to call that "seeing" you'll not find many people who will disagree. I'd suggest that you simplify that contention by saying they "hear" with their ears.

Vampire bats are opportunistic feeders. Normally animals are much more available than people since people tend to stay inside at night (when the bats prefer to feed). People are also much more likely to react to a bat landing on or near them than say a horse or a cow, so again, bats are much less likely to feed on them. With that said - there are plenty of accounts of people out camping in areas within the habitat area of the bats who wake up to find one has nibbled on their ear or toes or other exposed skin without them waking up.

experiments, i would think that scientist would put them in a room and emit sounds at different wave lenghs to see if they respond or if there is a change in their behaviour. but that's just a guess :) also, bats are completely blind and rely on their hearing to navigate. that's where the phrase "blind as a bat" came from.

Don't really understand what you mean here. Bats are mammals, and breed as such - so there's a Mother Bat, a Father bat and Baby bat. But they don't live in a strong family unit, so apart from Mother and Baby, you probably wouldn't be able to say who the father is.

Not all bats hibernate but the ones who live where it gets cold usually do. This is because during the colder months food becomes almost non existent for them. Some of them will also migrate to warmer areas.
