Three people were stabbed in Beijing, China, on August 9, 2008, by 47-year-old Tang Yongming of Hangzhou, while visiting the 13th-century Drum Tower in Beijing during the 2008 Summer Olympics. The victims were Todd Bachman, a prominent horticulturalist from Lakeville, Minnesota, his wife Barbara, and their female Chinese national tour guide. Todd Bachman along with the Chinese tour guide (whose name was not released) died in the attack. Barbara Bachman was severely wounded but survived the attack. Usually gymnasts peak around 14 or 15 years old and thus the retirement age comes quickly after. Most gymnasts retire around 19 or 20 years old now-a-days. But it used to be said that 19 was "over-the-hill" for gymnastics. Although, Dominique Dawes retired at 23 years old, just a few months before her 24 birthday. And Russian gymnast Svetlana Khorkina retired at 25 years old.
