I was on Nortriptyline for substantial period of time. It depends on an amount of Nortriptyline your are taking daily. Nortriptyline pills could be from 10 mg to 100 mg. Nortriptyline by itself has pretty high cardiac toxicity. So if your daily dosage is small 10-20 mg, I'd say there are no restrictions regarding taking Xanax and Nortriptyline together.But if you are on a higher dosage I'd suggest to be double cautious.

It is a possibility that you have gotten 'immune' to this drug by building up a tolerance to it. It is used for anxiety disorders and some people have a high tolerance to benzo's. I personally can take 100mgs and it doesn't get me high but usually puts me to sleep. Be careful, taking too much can cause adverse reactions. Some people can accidentally overdose because the benzo's can cause respiratory failure and thus leading to death. Don't dance with the devil unless you know the consequences. Be careful my friend! Usually, Celexa is prescribed to be taken in the mornings. Many people do take it though at night because it may make you tired. Xanax and Celexa can be taken together. The only side effect is that you'll sleep better. I use to take Celexa and Xanax all the time with no problems!

Both Xanax (alprazolam) and Valium (diazepam) are benzodiazepines and both should be detected in a test for benzodiazepines. However they can be tested for separately.

Valium is also detectable longer than Xanax.

xanax is a wonderful medication. i use it and I've beeen perscribed multible anti-depressant medications in which there was no side effect from the mixture. i do find xanax works for depression and anti-pressants have at least on side effect that is undesired. i 've been lookin for the right mixture myself for a long time. be careful with new medicines that haven't been out for a duration of 10-20 years. i find enought xanax is good enough myself with oral opiates once a weeek. seriously.

Well, that specific cocktail is what I'm taking. The Wellbutrin was prescribed to deal with a dopamine (lack of reuptake) issue, and the klonopin is, I imagine, the other half to even things out at night. Wellbutrin can make you a bit edgy. The Concerta also works on the dopamine in the brain, and should be what allows you (and me) to focus. All three in theory help to alleviate depression, as well. To explain my situation so you can perhaps compare to yours, I first became uncharacteristically depressed. While I had bouts of 2-3 day depressions in the past, they were mild and were always triggered by an event (a fight, etc.). This was an out of the blue thing. I finally had to see a doctor. We ruled out thyroid (my family all suffers from thyroid conditions, except for me). The GP thought perhaps I had a chemical imbalance, specifically bipolar disorder and sent me to the psychiatrist. I should mention that my mother and I share the same doctor (GP) and since he knows she's bipolar, he diagnosed based on that and my immediate symptoms. The psychiatrist didn't feel bipolar was the issue, but he saw the ADD right off. That's the way I've always been, though, so I focused on this sudden and unrelenting depression (bouts of crying, just a mess for no reason). So he prescribed Wellbutrin (300mg) in the morning and .50 mg Klonopin as needed at night. After about a month and a half (I was really just about completely normal after a month) he decided to treat the ADHD with the addition of Concerta. I honestly don't see what the big deal with my ADD is, since I've lived with it forever not doing too badly (but I suppose not as well as I might have). The doc, it appears, feels otherwise and sees the depression and ADD/ADHD as related and once again, the reuptake of dopamine in the brain is what all three are meant to work on. So I guess that's the root of the problem and what the combination of drugs is supposed to treat. Sometimes I know they substitute Adderall or Ritalin for the Concerta, and while Wellbutrin and Concerta are a common combination, the Klonopin seems to depend on the person and the doctor. I honestly believe the Klonopin is to take you down a notch at night since Concerta and to a lesser extent the Wellbutrin act as stimulants.

There are a host of other prescription drugs that contain Benzodiazapine - Valium,Xanax, Lorazepam, just about any major anti-anxiety drug.

You're supposed to put down all drugs you're taking prior to the test so they can rule out false positives from prescription drugs or natural herbs. If you didn't do that, then they have no way of knowing you may have taken something containing it.

Some test panels will show that you have taken Benzos even though you are sure you haven't.
