Matter did not form from nothing, as this violates the law of conservation of mass. Rather, energy was converted into subatomic particles shortly after the Big Bang. However, due to the extremely hot and dense state of the Universe at the time, it would take thousands of years for true matter to finally assemble.

Below is the time line that leads up to the formation of matter:

In the very beginning, a singularity of extreme heat and density goes through an extremely fast inflation. Space and time suddenly originates, and the Universe expands to billions of times its original size in 10-43 seconds. This initial expansion is commonly known as the "Big Bang"

About 10-32 seconds after the Big Bang, energy is converted into a variety of subatomic particles, and the Universe is a seething hot soup of quarks and electrons

Nearly a second after the Big Bang, a rapidly cooling Universe permits quarks to clump together and form protons and neutrons. However, it is still too hot for atoms to assemble.

A few minutes after the Big Bang, the Universe continues to cool and expand, and protons and neutrons combine to form the first hydrogen nuclei. Photons interact with charged protons and electrons, preventing light from shining. The Universe is dark and opaque.

Thousands of years after the Big Bang, the Universe cools down enough for electrons to combine with protons and neutrons to form the first atoms. This is when true matter forms. Photons are also released and the Universe becomes transparent and filled with light.

The first element is hydrogen. Clouds of hydrogen gas condense to form stars, and from there, all the other elements are produced.

The great assembly of people were silent. (Can you think of answers to these questions?) In the midst of these brilliant scholars and students of Islam, there was a man looking on with his young son. "O my dear father! I will answer him and silence him!" said the youth. So the boy sought the permission of the Khalifah to give the answers and he was given the permission to do so.

The Roman addressed the young Muslim and repeated his first question, "What was there before Allah?" The boy asked, "Do you know how to count?" "Yes," said the man. "Then count down from ten!" So the Roman counted down, "ten, nine, eight, ..." until he reached "one" and he stopped counting. "But what comes before 'one'?" asked the boy. "There is nothing before one - that is it!" said the man. "Well then, if there obviously is nothing before the arithmetic 'one', then how do you expect that there should be anything before the 'One' who is Absolute truth, All-Eternal, Everlasting the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden?" Now the man was surprised by this direct answer which he could not dispute. So he asked, "Then tell me, in which direction is Allah facing?" "Bring a candle and light it," said the boy, "and tell me in which direction the flame is facing." "But the flame is just light - it spreads in each of the four directions, North, South, East and West. It does not face any one direction only," said the man in wonderment. The boy cried, "Then if this physical light spreads in all four directions such that you cannot tell me which way it faces, then what do you expect of the Nur-us-Samawati- wal-'Ard: Allah - the Light of the Heavens and the Earth!? Light upon Light,(Quran An Nur (Light) 24:35), Allah faces all directions at all times."

The Roman was stupefied and astounded that here was a young child answering his challenges in such a way that he could not argue against the proofs. So, he desperately wanted to try his final question. But before doing so, the boy said, "Wait! You are the one who is asking the questions and I am the one who is giving the answers to these challenges. It is only fair that you should come down to where I am standing and that I should go up where you are right now, in order that the answers may be heard as clearly as the questions." This seemed reasonable to the Roman, so he came down from where he was standing and the boy ascended the platform. Then the man repeated his final challenge, "Tell me, what is Allah doing at this moment?" The boy proudly answered, "At this moment, when Allah found upon this high platform a liar and mocker of Islam, He caused him to descend and brought him low. And as for the one who believed in the Oneness of Allah, He raised him up and established the Truth. Every day He exercises (universal) power (Surah 55 ar-Rahman, Verse 29)." The Roman had nothing to say except to leave and return back to his country, defeated.

Meanwhile, this young boy grew up to become one of the most famous scholars of Islam. Allah, the Exalted, blessed him with special wisdom and knowledge of the Deen (religion). His name was Abu Hanifah (rahmatullah alayhi - May Allah have mercy on him) and he is known today as Imam Abu Hanifah (Imam-e-Azam) , the Great Imam and scholar of Islam

If God doesn't exist, you won't discover anything. Therefore, its a good thing He does exist!

If you die and then discover the truth it will be no different from when you were alive. If an entity has conscious intelligence then it can be considered to be alive. In order for one entity to interact with another entity, there must be a medium of communication. In order for humans to communicate with machines we have created devices that are used as an interface.

It is truly absurd for any person with an appreciable level of intelligence to suggest that a Supreme Divine Entity is governing this universe like a deranged puppet master simply toying with the lives of people for his egocentric amusement. It is absolutely ridiculous to suggest that the intelligent entity which is responsible for creating such intricate systems as a strand of DNA, the solar system, and the universe with the various aspects of intelligence influencing their being would create such primitive and infantile concepts as heaven and hell. It is truly absurd to suggest that this sophisticated entity would create an idiotic system whereby a person is expected to discover the true identity and objective of this hidden entity and fanatically supplicate themselves to it or suffer the unjust consequences of eternal damnation.

If such an entity exists which is intellectually superior to us then obviously it would have an intelligent and efficient system of equally communicating with every single one of us. Secrecy and espionage is not usually the system that is practiced in a home among loving family members it is usually adopted when dealing with enemies and villains. If God is not a bigot then as he conveniently speak to others he can equally speak to you. If he cannot speak to you as he reportedly did with others, then obviously he couldn't care less about you because you are insignificant to him.

Anyone who claims to know and share a special relationship with God but cannot literally carry you into the presence of God is simply an evil manipulative charlatan. If all that you must contend with are conveniently manipulated illusive fantasies of infantile ideologies regarding terminal rewards and punishments but absolutely no equitable, immediate, reliable and dependable consequence then obviously this will not change when you die. It is an ultimate fact that if something exists (is real or true) it simply has to be recognized and experienced.

The question smacks of the religious assumption of the doctrine of the "immortality of the soul," which the Bible (the purported Word of God), does not support. Souls die, which makes them "mortal"... not immortal - Ezek.18:4 & 20.

It is, however, the first lie Satan told Eve - Gen.3:4... which man believed and later it was expanded upon by the Greek philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. In fact, the above argument could have come straight out of either of their writings.

The dead are in their graves awaiting the prophesied "resurrection from the dead to Judgment." These dead are unaware of the passage of time... and at the moment of their resurrection... for all they know, it will be as if they had "blinked" (the twinkling of an eye) at the time of their death... and they WILL be alive again.

And their consciousness will be because God DOES exist.

Big Bang

The Big Bang theory is an effort to explain what happened at the very beginning of our universe. Discoveries in astronomy and physics have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that our universe did in fact have a beginning. Prior to that moment there was nothing; during and after that moment there was something: our universe. The big bang theory is an effort to explain what happened during and after that moment.

According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as "singularity" around 13.7 billion years ago. What is a "singularity" and where does it come from? Well, to be honest, we don't know for sure. Singularities are zones which defy our current understanding of physics. They are thought to exist at the core of "black holes." The pressure is thought to be so intense that finite matter is actually squished into infinite density (a mathematical concept which truly boggles the mind). These zones of infinite density are called "singularities." Our universe is thought to have begun as an infinitesimally small, infinitely hot, infinitely dense, something - a singularity. Where did it come from? We don't know. Why did it appear? We don't know.

After its initial appearance, it apparently inflated (the "Big Bang"), expanded and cooled, going from very, very small and very, very hot, to the size and temperature of our current universe. It continues to expand and cool to this day and we are inside of it: incredible creatures living on a unique planet, circling a beautiful star clustered together with several hundred billion other stars in a galaxy soaring through the cosmos, all of which is inside of an expanding universe that began as an infinitesimal singularity which appeared out of nowhere for reasons unknown. There are many misconceptions surrounding the Big Bang theory. For example, we tend to imagine a giant explosion. Experts however say that there was no explosion; there was (and continues to be) an expansion. Big Bang Theory - Evidence for the Theory

What are the major evidences which support the Big Bang theory?

* First of all, we are reasonably certain that the universe had a beginning.

* Second, galaxies appear to be moving away from us at speeds proportional to their distance. This is called "Hubble's Law," named after Edwin Hubble (1889-1953) who discovered this phenomenon in 1929. This observation supports the expansion of the universe and suggests that the universe was once compacted.

* Third, if the universe was initially very, very hot as the Big Bang suggests, we should be able to find some remnant of this heat. In 1965, Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered a 2.725 degree Kelvin (-454.765 degree Fahrenheit, -270.425 degree Celsius) Cosmic Microwave Background radiation (CMB) which pervades the observable universe. This is thought to be the remnant which scientists were looking for. Penzias and Wilson shared in the 1978 Nobel Prize for Physics for their discovery.

* Finally, the abundance of the "light elements" Hydrogen and Helium found in the observable universe are thought to support the Big Bang model of origins. Answer

It is difficult to "look back into time" and answer a question like this. There are several different ideas floating among astrophysicists. The idea of strings as a source for the Big Bang is one hypothesis, but is currently untestable. The lion's share of the ideas we have concerning the origin of the universe at time zero are all based in mathematical models. For all the tap dancing, posturing and brilliant calculations being put forth, the short answer in that no one has the faintest idea. Something does not suddenly appear from nothing. Either the universe has always been here or it had a beginning. If it had a beginning than a split second before this there had to be nothing. Some say it must have been God others, particularly scientists, avoid the question rather doggedly. What we do know is that something can not suddenly appear where there is nothing, at least not with our current knowledge.

Your question seems to suggest that you accept the idea of a Big Bang, since you use the term 'Big Bang' as a reference to time.

The concept of infinity also is used in reference to time. unending time.

Time as we perceive it began at the instant of the Big Bang. Along with space. The space we see out there that we call the universe, with all the energy and matter contained in it, which seems to be fated to expanding ever faster with time. Time as we know it.

We think of time as time forward or time back. We seem to think of infinity as time forward. Knowing what we believe to be true of the universe, today, during our time, makes it difficult to think of an infinite time in the past because of our concept of the Big Bang. It is an indelible reference point in our mind when we try to conceive of the universe and its beginning, in time. Time back. But to a point. Not infinitely back. An infinite future time is not so difficult to imagine.

If this time is the only one we can perceive, and we can see that at this time ( a manifestation of space-time), there is all this expanding space with all its energy and mass (again, two manifestations of the same thing), then we must accept the notion that there is something, not nothing. At least since the Big Bang.

The instant of the Big Bang, the beginning of time and space, ended the possibility of an "infinity of nothing". All of a sudden, there is something.

In any discussion of infinity-eternity-everything-nothing one should research the concepts of "dimensionality and branes". Try looking up M-theory.

We convince ourselves that a future infinity is meaningful while a past infinity is not, but this comes more from the limitations of our minds than anything else. Any further discussion must surely include the possibility that our universe was born in the 'Big Bang' event, and that the 'Big Bang' itself occurred when two 'branes' collided in a larger 'multiverse' of eleven dimensions. But if you go into that particular discussion, you must discuss gravity and it's strength relative to the other known physical forces, and perhaps the idea that gravity is a force acting within and throughout the 'multiverse' and distributed in some way between all the universes that exist within said 'multiverse. • God is a Spirit, not Matter: He created all the universe, subsequently there was matter. The short answer: God existed before and he existed after the Big Bang. God is Eternal, always existing. The question remains how he created the universe. An individual cannot understand or believe in creation or God without the gift of faith (being sure of things hoped for, and certain of things unseen). As you trust the word of God evolution is seen as false. God explains throughout the Old and New Testaments about these conflicts of man's opinions vs. His revealed truth. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. From the time of Abraham God declared that there was one God and had chosen a people to follow Him and demonstrate that He was the only true God. When God created the trees and stars that means the light was here within its creation and the trees were of full stature as were man and the animals. Carbon dating can make elements appear older than they are. One should be able to see what the Biblical position maintains. There are many verses that explain all of this repeatedly, assuring these truths to the end of time.

• God is outside the stream of time: If I understand correctly, then Einstein's relativity theory states that nothing going slower than the speed of light can go faster than the speed of light (and vice-versa). By implication, time traveling would be a problem. Regarding this, there is a neat agreement between Einstein and the references in the book of Matthew 24:3 and 24:36 which helps us to understand creation itself. From this time related question and answer it can be derived that the whole creation is in the stream of time whereas only God is outside the stream of time. God is therefore at least one dimension (the dimension of time) above all of his creation. (Aptly the opening words of the book of Revelation is an example on how time related knowledge is passed on.) If this is the case, then it can be reasoned that God is the architect of time in our universe along with all the other physical laws that are interwoven with time. There was no need for a Big Bang. (It would seem an untidy way of doing things). • A Thought Regarding Time & Infinity: We have to define God before we can argue/ talk about whether or not God existed before the Big Bang. If we define God as infinite and define infinite as something that doesn't depend on time, space and matter, then, yes God existed before the big bang. Now, one may say that how can something exist without time, space and matter? We can think of infinity as a form that can have physical representation but it doesn't have to. The closest example of that would be thinking itself. If we think of a walking tree, it exists in our minds but it doesn't have a physical reality. In other words, form can exist without the physical objects. Mathematics is representation of forms which holds true regardless of whether or not the physical representation exists. A believer would consider terms rationality, logic and common sense are overused. They should be used carefully.

• An Opinion That the Two Can't Coexist: Religious people believe in God. Do they believe in the Big Bang? Yes, some religious people do believe in the Big Bang. How can that be? Well, you see it is very easy for them to explain: God made the Big Bang happen, or God always existed, before and after the Big Bang. Where was he? in what space? in what place? If the Big Bang created the universe, what was there before the Big Bang? God must have been there... Notice that Science came up with the Big Bang... That person must be confused... You have Adam and Eve on one hand and evolution on another... oops... Maybe that's why they created the intelligent design. Isn't it crazy to come up with crazy ideas like God intended us to discover the Big Bang or evolution, he created them, he made them happen. So like that, I understand that all God wants us to do is to be messed up, confused, angry, and actually all this makes people get where we know they get... Be rational. You either believe in Big Bang or in God. You can't believe in both according to common sense and to rationality.

As a non-physicist I can give only a layman's basic view, but Membrane Theory comes out of the fact that some interesting problems are solved if we view the world as 11-dimensional. Another amazing possibility is that inside the 11th dimension there are countless Membranes, of many possible shapes and configurations, each one being a complete parallel universe (Our universe is one of these Membranes). One possibility currently being studied is that when 2 Membranes collide, the result of the collision is a Big Bang, and the initiation of another universe. If this theory holds up, it will readily, and with almost breathless ease, account for lots and lots of dynamic activity before our humdrum Big Bang took place. A little bit of our wired-in human myopia will be cured. So it is altogether possible that believers would be able to claim existence of the deity before our Big Bang, and even have a coherent model of physics that does not contradict the belief.

• An Opinion That Definitely Says No Big Bang: This would be one of those questions that was meant to find a contradiction. God created the Earth. There was no Big Bang. He spoke life into being... If you find a Christian that believes in the Big Bang Theory or any type of Evolution- you will find a Christian that has not read the beginning of Genesis (in the Bible).... Yet Christ and the Bible show that God promises to keep and preserve His words and that he is is capable of doing so. Psalm 12:6,7; Matthew 5:18; Matthew 24:35. So, some of the thoughts expressed on this topic are not in accordance to what God said in the Bible. Paul told the young pastor, Timothy: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2Timothy 2:15. If it can be rightly studied, compared and categorized, then it also can be misrepresented and given corrupt meaning. Paul also warned Timothy about false science (L., sciens = to know) that would be placed in opposition against the truth. 1Tmothy 6:20.

Therefore God, who created the heavens and the earth, with all that is in them, obviously existed before them, according to Scriptures. In Colossians 1:14-17 and in other Scriptures, it is maintained that Jesus, as eternal God, created all things. John says in his Gospel that there wasn't anything made without Christ. John 1:3.

However, most cosmologists do not see a need for God in their theories of how the earth and the heavens came to be. There is a discrepancy to consider oneself a Christian and then deny the clear teaching of Scriptures in favor of evolution. This should be seen as a conflict with and contrary to that which Christ taught. A Christ follower (a Christian) would want to agree with His teachings regarding creation and other matters. Besides His earthly ministry, Revelation 19:10 says: "The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy," making Christ central to all the teaching of the Bible.

Among other things, the Big Bang cannot explain where Matter, Energy, and Laws came from: it does not exist except in the minds of its adherents.

Concept of God: It really depends on the concept or definition of God, or gods. If we approach it from a traditional perspective, as those ascribed by the major religions, then we may be quite limited in our ability to account for all that now know is in the observable universe. If we put aside everything that is being currently debated about Creation or the Big Bang and all the theories about other dimensions and just take a look outside on a clear night, only one thing comes to my mind and that is if the God of Judaism-Christianity-Islam had really created the Earth, why did he choose such a provincial little spot and only a handful of people in such a small instance of eternity to give what they say is the most important news of the Universe? If that concept of God really did those things, then it would, by their definition, have required God to be before the Big Bang. If those two concepts do not seem congruous with each other, than maybe we need another definition of the Big Bang or a new definition and perspective of what God may be.

Concluding discussions above; from the Islamic point of view that coincides generally with the other two God religions (Christianity and Judaism), it could be stated that God (the Creator) is beyond the human known limits of dimensions (distance, time, ... etc) and imagination. God is existing before the universe and before anything we know or don't know. God is eternal and is existing after the end of the universe and the end of anything we know or we don't know.
