Is it illegal to keep duck eggs until they can fly illegal in Winnipeg Manitoba?
As long as you have your bird saver card
Absolutely!! If the abuser thinks you are on to them and you point it out, it can escalate. Any form of abuse can. It may start with name calling, or nit picking, silent treatment, you name it. Abusers do not like their faults pointed out. They don't think they are abusing you. The minds work alot different than ours. If you ever feel threatened...leave. My husband is verbally/emtionally abusive. He has never hit me, shoved me..nothing physical. I have been going thru this for 17 years. I know at anytime he could turn physically abusive. I don't kid myself about that. I leave the house if I feel that threatened. Which has only been a couple of time. Just stay smart and safe.
Most abusers are not physically violent. The best predictor of future violence is past violence.
You need to be more specific as to the type of bird. Also, are you referring to eggs laid at once (in a "clutch") or over the lifespan of the bird?
The typical number of eggs that a bird will lay varies considerably from species to species. Though, for practical reasons, birds cannot lay more than about 20 eggs at once - whereas reptiles (the other main hard-shell egg-laying group) can lay multiple dozens of eggs at a time.
Is she possibly hormonal? A puberty or adult bird will become hormonal and want to mate. Signs of hormonal behaviour are squatting low and lifting bum into the air, squatting down with bum in the air and making chirping sounds or rubbing her vent on perches, toys etc. Rubbing her vent is a form of masturbation and can be quite embarrassing but its normal. However I am new to birds so please get a second opinion as I don't want to mislead you. If you're concerned about your bird or notice a change in her droppings or general behaviour, please speak to a avian veterinarian who can advise you.
Van the Valsalva maneuver treat rapid heartbeats?
The Valsalva maneuver also corrects some rapid heartbeats originating in the atria. When the maneuver is done correctly, blood pressure rises. This forces the heart to respond by correcting its rhythm and beating more slowly.
If a parakeet's long tail feather is broken but not bleeding should it still get pulled it out?
maybe you should ask your vet's opinion. i don't think you should pull the feather out yourself before you get a profesional opinion
What condition is an irregular quivering action of the atria and a very rapid ventricular heartbeat?
"atrial fibrillation" is the irregular quivering action of the atria, which in turn, may cause "palpitations" (the awareness of an irregular heartbeat) and/or "tachycardia" (rapid heartbeat).
How do you take care of the eggs your parakeet had?
For parakeet eggs, letting the parents incubate the eggs and raise the young is best.
If you plan on breeding your parakeets I would recommend getting books or reading on the internet information specific to the species of parakeet you would like to raise, there are many different types and each type has its own special needs.
If you have only 1 parakeet and it has lain an egg on the bottom of the cage you may discard that egg. Since there is no boy bird, and the egg was not laid in a nest specific to that type of parakeet it will not hatch.
Can parakeet have eggs while caring for their babies that are two months?
Yes, they can have eggs as soon as the first eggs hatch.
Can wild birds eat cranberries?
Yes, wild birds can eat cranberries. Just last week, I put out some on my feeder and on the floor, and some birds eat it, and the squirrels and chipmunks all gobble up the rest on the floor.
Why would a parakeet throw up a lot?
I had a budgie that used to "throw up alot". What was really going on was that he was in love with me. He would mount my hand and smash his beak against my fingernail, regurgitating seed to show me he could feed babies. He would rub his touchie on the back of my hand to try to fertilize me some how. No this is not birdie porn - it's a very good reason why a bird might appear to "throw up a lot" and be very healthy and happy.
As far as i know, this happens to all parakeets, not just females. The stripes disappear because your parakeet is getting older. It's kind of like when a fawn looses the whites spots on his back. It's perfectly normal and there is no problem. :)
Is it normal for a parakeet to lay 9 eggs?
Yes, it is. A female parakeet can lay 4 to 9 eggs, laying one every second day.
This is serious. My budgie died that way. The only way to save it is to rush it to a vet IMMEDIATELY. Don't wait another minute. Call 1st and see if an avian vet is at the nearest possible vet. Be VERY gentle with it!!!! I waited an hour and mine was already dead. They may be able to save it if you go NOW.
Well i have parakeets and ive never seen that. But there poop is the brown and sometimes green part. There pee is the white part in the middle.
What happens to female parakeets after they give birth?
Parakeets do not give birth to live babies but rather they lay eggs. Each batch of eggs is called a clutch. After the female parakeet lays the eggs she lays on them to keep them warm until they hatch.
Alexandrine parakeet is not eating and getting weaker?
Do nothing just force him to eat or leave food in a bowl that will make him eat the food when he starve. You can offer him ice cream if he eat food. ;)
Your female parakeet is fat and sitting on the bottom is she laying a egg?
Usually when they sit on the bottom they are sick. If she's "fat" she may not be getting the right food or enough exercise. She might have a serious respiratory illness. Maybe she just looks fat because her feathers are all fluffed up. If she's laying an egg you can pick her up and feel it underneath by her tail. Sometimes birds get "egg bound" and need help passing an egg. Normally a bird lays an egg in the place she's chosen to keep it safe. She'll go back there when it's time to lay the next one. When she's done with that batch or "clutch" of eggs she'll start to sit on them. Usually there needs to be a male around to get her working on eggs in the first place. Birds should always be loved and fed well but when they lay they need extra protein. If you have a bird that is laying eggs, fertile or not, they need extra protein. Do more research on line and make sure she gets what she needs.
If you clip a parakeets wings will they ever fly?
Yes, if you clip their wings they will be able to fly again eventually. It takes about six months for them to grow back, but they will.
Sounds like a female! When she is ready to breed she will get a brown flaky cere. And some females will develop blue cere's when around other females more than males.
