I first met Joe Ancis in 1988 or 89 through Rodney Dangerfield. Rodney and Joe had been friends for over 50 years and at the time Joe was living in Rodney's condo in NYC. Rodney would say that Joe was the funniest man he ever met. Joe never went on the road with Rodney because he had a fear of flying but this one time Rodney had convinced him to come to LA where he camped out at the Beverly Hilton penthouse.
