What was limerick like in 1930?

The limerick has a long and complex history - it is possible that it originates in Late Empire Roman funerary inscriptions. It became a popular form in English mainstream writing after its adoption by Edward Lear from 1845 on.

Lear was untypical of limericists - his limericks nearly always repeated the first line as line five, and they were never scatalogical or risqué.

The most important writer on the limerich after Lear is probably Gershon Legman. In the 1940s Legman wrote a series of articles re-popularising 'rude' limericks (which had never gone away) - but that is a little after your date.

I suppose the simple answer to your question is that the limerick in 1930 was pretty much the way it was in 1830, and is still: a rather old-fashioned folkstyle of poem which is especially good at being naughty, but can be used for genteel wit by a skillful practicioner.

What are the main features of fiction?

Fiction can be anything you want. You can have make-believe characters, names, creatures... the sky is the limit! (unless there is no sky) Basically, fiction comes in many forms. There is historical fiction, just pure fiction, fact-fiction, etc. Fiction usually contains things that are not true. You could always take an event that actually happened, but write it from a point of view that either wasn't there or couldn't tell the story. For example, I am writing a book about medieval times. However, none of the characters are real or were real. I include mythical creatures and bonds between people that do not exist. Fiction is basically anything not true or only partly true. Nonfiction can only be written if everything is the truth, so fiction is anything just a little bit less than true to totally false.

Hope I helped :)

Are there books about bethanny Hamilton?

Bethany Hamilton wrote the book "Soul Surfer" which was later adapted into a film. If you found out about Bethany through the movie, I would definitely recommend you read the book as well. You would be surprised at how much was changed and left out. Other than that, I can't think of any book specifically about her that jumps to mind. But that doesn't necessarily mean there aren't out there. Happy Hunting!
