It should not be done purposely, but if it did happen, the female Jack Russell would have to have a C-section to be able to have the pups ... they would be too big to birth naturally. It would also be dangerous for her to be pregnant with pups of a much larger dog, but if she were to get pregnant with only a few instead of several, she might be OK. The pups would be medium-sized dogs ... not as small at the JR, and not as large as the collie. Anyway, because of the danger involved to the mother and subsequent pups, purposeful breeding between these two should never be done.

This is called blowing coat. This is when German Shepherds loose their undercoat all at one time over the course of a couple of weekes or so - the undercoat oftentimes comes out in large tufts.

This can be hormonal or seasonal but in most cases it is simply the dog renewing it's own undercoat naturally so in order to get a new undercoat you have to get rid of the old one first.

Yes of course. We have a border collie/Kelpie. His father was 100% Border Collie and his mother was 3/4 Border and 1/4 Kelpie. We got him at a Cattle Auction here in the Central Valley of California. A lot of the ranchers around here breed the Border Collie with a Kelpie for use on their ranches.

Healthy females may have 3-8 puppy's in a litter normally but it depends on what the collie was crossed with

I got a collie puppy form the RSPCA last Christmas and his eyes were slightly out. As he grew they became straight and now you could never tell that he had bad eyes when he was a puppy. However, this does not occur in every collie and is just a genetic glitch.

If your German shepherd is losing her winter coat but it is coming out in clumps, it may be fine or it may be a sign of a problem. Sometimes when the undercoat comes out it all comes loose at once and big clumps are not unusual. If your dog's skin seems irritated or if she is losing her outer coat as well, she may have a skin problem that requires veterinary treatment.

In my experience, it all depends on how old the dog is. If the Border Collie is older, it will try to fight (playfully) with the younger dog to display its dominance. this could become a habit after a while and if the other dog grows up to be large, your dog may get hurt. If the Border Collie is younger, it will try to fight up to gain dominance. but with proper training, you can get them to get along. This would not fix the situation of the other dog if it is younger because it would have the influence of the ever persistent Border Collie to keep it "fighting". Hope this helps!
