If your fiance left you after 5 years because you drank too much and were controlling do you have a chance to get her back if you can change?

I love this woman very much. We were best of friends for three years before we got together. Once we got together we moved in with eachother. We got engaged three years after that. We had a wedding planned for July of 05' but called the wedding off in March because of problems. We kept trying to make it work. I kept drinking and she finally left me. I have quit drinking and am working on my control issues with a thrapist. I am still totally in love with this woman and would like to have a family with her. Right now she tells me she does not know if we have a fututre together. She is living her life, happy and free right now. She is not even really broke up about the situation. I am devastatede and am doing everything I can to better myself, to become happy and true to myself. I still would like to have a chance with this woman. Six months from now, if I have not had a drink, and am working on my issues, shouldn't I have a chance to try and make it work at least one more time. What do you think, and what are my chances. She says she loves me as a friend, but she doesn't love the person I was.

How can a guy win back an ex who says she wants you back if her current relationship doesn't work?

It's not that simple...We were dating for 3 years and started as the very best of friends. I am 21 and she is 17. We have since spent every day together and even when I moved away for college...we still talked daily and made the efforts to see each other. We had some issues between us (jealousy mostly) and we wound up splitting. She says she is still in love with me, but cannot love me the same because she is with a new guy. We talk on the phone still...as best friends.

This new guy is almost 26, and I worry for her. I feel that she is just going through a rebound phase and will come back to me when she realizes she was just looking for someone to hold and kiss while I am gone. I will be back in our town in 2 months but I don't want to move back if she is gone forever.

How can I show her I love her still and pull her out of this relationship? Her parents are abusing her about the relationship, and he seems to be good for her but...I am scared for her. I don't ever want to hurt her as I love her dearly, but I also miss her so much that it hurts me constantly.

It sounds like your girlfriend (she may not even realize it) is looking for not only acceptance, but trying to mature and become independent, but is doing it the wrong way. She is dating men to see her through it and not giving herself head space to get to know who SHE is and what her strength and weakness' are.

People who love each other should have trust and jealousy shouldn't even enter into it. Since you mentioned you had jealousy issues then this is a lack of confidence and a sign of immaturity. If one or both of you tried to make the other jealous then it was never love in the first place.

I have no doubt you are good friends, but both of you need some growing time to mature. You can still achieve this and hopefully she'll see the light and do the same thing. With her parents always at her regarding her new boyfriend this will only make her stubborn to the point of possibly ruining her life and end up living or married to this guy. It's best not to put pressure on her whether it be her parents or you.

The more interest you show in her the more secure she thinks she is. Here she has a boyfriend she thinks she loves and there you are (she hasn't even considered your feelings) on the sidelines waiting to pick her up when she falls. Hey, let her fall hard! It will teach her a lesson and that's how we mature. Quit babying this girl. No matter how much we love someone (this includes family and friends as well) we have to give our best advice and then stand back and let the person either take the advice or pay the consequences for their own actions.

It's time for you to look at this rationally. She has chosen another guy, he appears to be good to her so let it play out. Instead of making every hour of every day your personal agenda to keep her safe it's time you got out with friends and back into the dating circuit. No one respects someone they can use as a whipping post. Perhaps if she sees you aren't around so much and out dating this could be what brings her back to you. Take the risk!

Good luck!

Why would you want to be sloppy seconds. This person is playing head games with you and is using you for their own gratification. Besides what guarantee do you have that if she comes back she wont do the same thing again in the future when it strikes her mood. A committed relationship is one where both people consider the others feelings in everything they do and this woman does not sound like she's thought about your feelings at all. Your not a yoyo to be toyed with you are a man that deserves a good woman and that woman should deserve your affections the same. Please dont waste anymore time on a person like this, you will regret it in the end. P.S. Please go to some self-esteem classes because the fact you would even consider taking her back means you dont have much value of your own self worth.

How do you move on after a verbally and emotionally abusive with a husband of 12 years if you have two small children and your husband doesn't want you anymore but you still love him?

Don't kill him understand that you think you still love him it's quite possible that deep inside that you do but think about the times he disrespected you out of your name and think to yourself do really still want that and it the answer is no don't worry about him anymore in time he will see how much you loved him and then he will feel bad that he did you wrong karma is real and it happens what goes around comes around and all things you reap you will so. So just trust and believe there is somebody out there for you that won't disrespect you but treats you the way you deserve and stay in prayer God is the key to all your problems time will heal all wounds remember that. It's always a tough one when a mate (of either sex) tells you they don't love you any longer. It happened to me as well. I didn't have children with this person so it wasn't as complicated as your problem, but nonetheless it hurt like crazy. I divorced the rat! He was cheating on me (many times) was verbal and physically abusive to me. I did put up with it for 3 1/2 years, but gave myself a good slap and wondered where my fight and dignity had gone. I had to get on my own feet, get my independence back again and look after myself. I did it and so do thousands of other women. A verbally abusive partner can leave as many scars on a person as a physical abuser. Your husband has had his way for far too long. By taking his verbal abuse you have enabled his behavior. Verbal and physical abusers basically brain-wash their victims (yes, you are a victim) by fear, and the necessity for you and your children to walk on egg shells around this man. He's a controller! Don't sit there saying you love him, but get darn mad! This man has just stomped all over you and your children. By the two of you going at it verbally (or you just sit and take it) is not good for the children and they are picking up the habits of this behavior. The sons are more than likely going to pick up the traits of the father and not respect women in the future and daughters are more apt to pick up the apathy of the mother. This is no longer about you, but your children! Get mad, get moving and get help! There are women's abuse centers in your area and if you can't find them then call your local "Mental Health" and they will guide you through the process. Love is not about hurting someone and you are just confused and frightened at this point. If you seek help you will gain more strength and independence and able to face up to your verbal abuser and give him options. He can either seek help or you're leaving with the kids. You're children SHOULD NEVER have to put up with this whether you love this man or not. Good luck hon Unfortunately, it takes two to create a loving relationship. One person can't do it alone. If he hasn't actually moved out, then you should grit your teeth and take action to ensure the safety of yourself and your children. That is the most important thing here. Hopefully, you are currently working, but if you aren't you need to find shelter and/or some help to find a good job. (there may be paid training available to find a good job to support your kids)

What do you do when a guy breaks up with you and tries to make you jealous with his new girlfriend?

Just look at him and smile or ignore them! When he sees you doing those things he will notice that whatever he is doing to make you jealous is not working and it will aggravate him.

How do you talk to ex boyfriend to get him back?

wanna get it on?

-------------

You just talk to him, like a normal human being would to another. Do not say much. Less is more. Keep him keyed into the loveliest things that are happening in your life now, but do not allow him to know everything. Just enough that would suggest to him that without him, you are doing fine and you are happy. He will take the cue and fall into the trap you have set for him. And within a few days, you will have him back in your life!

Only Dan would know the answer to this question.

My ex left me for someone else he calls me and recently I apologized for what ever i did wrong he told me quiet you didnt do anything wrong what do you think he means I am still in love with him?

It means that you didn't do anything wrong, it was his state of mind that caused him to leave you not what you were or were not doing. It's natural to try and blame yourself, find some reason as to why it is your fault, but sometimes it just isn't, and events are outside your control. It'll be hard, but try and accept that and move past it.

All the best

How do you cheer a friend up?

  • Sometimes things just happen in a person's life that they have to think about and try to resolve and until they do they may be sad and oblivious to those around them. The best thing you can do is let them know you can be trusted with what they may want to say and that you are a good listener. You could go to a fun movie and do things that are uplifting.

What should a person do if her boyfriend of 2 years doesn't respect her mother and he wants to take break for a week while saying he loves her and doesn't want to hurt her?

Basically, prepare yourself for heartbreak. When someone says they need a break, it means they're going to act as if they're not in a relationship and probably get together with someone else. Prepare yourself.

How do you win back your ex-girlfriend who decided to take a break and is talking to another guy but still loves you?

When you love someone you don't take the kind of breaks your girlfriend is taking. 'Ex' means that relationship is over. She could have said she wanted a week or two away from each other to think things out. This is when you should have clarified if that meant both of you were dating. Since you agreed, then she can talk to anyone she wants. Just because she's talking to another guy doesn't mean she's in love with him or cheating on you. Phone your ex girlfriend and tell her you would like to talk with her. Tell HER you want a clean break of things and no mind games. Let her know you want to be free to date others. She may tell you to do so, but often when either partner sees the other with another date it's a whole different story. Only you know why you and your ex split up so there is reason here and it would be unfair of me to side with you completely without knowing why the break up.

Your boyfriend bres with you to go back with his X but they keep breaking up and goin together will you ever get him back?

I cannot tell you for sure, but if he dumped you for his ex girlfriend, why are you waiting for him? You don't deserve him, get out there and play the field make the guys come to you and have fun dating, don't waste all of your time wondering if he still has feelings for you, show him that he missed his chance with a wonderful girl while he rides a love roller coaster. If he does want you back don't take him, or at least make him beg.

How do you get your partner to trust you after his ex cheated on him?

First of all, make sure you don't say anything that you won't keep. If you do, and you don't keep your word to it, who knows what he might do.

Promise him you'll never put him through what his ex put him through, and ask what you can do to help him get over the feeling of being cheated on. Try to always be positive and nice to him, don't put him down in any way.

Simply, the best way to do this, is to treat him with a lot of respect, like how you would treat your best friend. Have a nice long talk with him, promise to tell the truth all the way, ask anything he'd like.

I dont believe my ex boyfriend when he says he only wants me?

It's understandable to feel skeptical about your ex-boyfriend's intentions, especially if there were trust issues in the past. Consider reflecting on his actions rather than just his words; consistent behavior over time can provide insight into his true feelings.
