At least she was honest with you. No, it's not always too late. If you're smart then I'd start dating and by doing so she may find out just how much she does love you. If she doesn't then you know it's time to move on. Although the truth can hurt sometimes these things happen for a reason simply because you haven't met the right girl yet. Life is strange and although you feel you are in love with her now, if she isn't there for you and wants her freedom already then it's because there is a special girl that will be coming into your life in the future and you'll be glad the split-up happened.

This happens all the time in abusive relationships, unfortunately. People always hurt other people but the question is are they conscious of what they are doing and are they willing to change? If not, you may have to stay away from them.

If you are a true friend you call them daily just to chat and LISTEN and tell them how valued they are. Tell them positive things about themselves as they most likely are depressed or have low self esteem at the moment.

Make plans with your friends on the weekend so they don't feel alone and have something to look forward to. A weekend alone can make your head spin!!

If they don't want to get dragged out of the house have a movie night (watch a funny movie, laughing helps) and have a slumber party.

Put your problems on hold for a minute - the first three months are the hardest. Always take their calls and reply same day to messages and emails, no need for them to feel rejected from everyone! :)

you flirt with the person your friends dating and try to hang out with your friend and their partner or just the partner. Get to know the person better and maybe go to the movies or dinner (don't tell your friend of course) and maybe after a while you've been doing that ask the person if they like you or not. If yes, then try going out on a DATE with them and they will break up with your friend. If no, then tell your friend that you went on dates with them and say your friend's partner gave you roses (buy roses and say they were sent to you from the partner) and chocolates and other stuff and then your friend will end up breaking up with the partner then you can go out with the partner.
