What causes sore nipples in males?

Two things come to mind -- the most likely is abrasion. Treat as you would any abrasion.

The second is gynecomastia, the development of non-malignant adipose tissue, often near the nipples. Sometimes, this is a side effect of prednizone therapy, and is also related to adolescence and aging, although may be idiopathic (not have any clear cause).

No, you can't get breast cancer from squeezing your breasts.

Women should talk with their doctor to determine their specific risk of breast cancer. All women should perform monthly breast self-examinations and report any changes to their doctor. Clinical breast examinations by a doctor should occur at least once every three years for women 20 to 39 years of age. Beginning at age 40, women should have yearly clinical breast exams by their doctor and yearly mammograms.

Are breasts supposed to grow one at a time?

No breasts do not grow at the same rate. Everybody is different and when you have your breasts some body else may not have theirs. It's all about your genes and your weight. If your mom or dads mom has small breast it's likely that you will to. And if your overweight some f your extra body fat will go to your breasts.

Breasts are tender and swollen with clear liquid coming out?

For women who have breast fed previously, there may still be some colostrum leaking out even months after they have discontinued breast feeding. Pregnant women typically do not see any colostrom until the last trimester.

You may be thinking at this point "but I've never been pregnant or breast fed prior to this leaking". This leaking can occur at any time, pregnant or not, history of breast feeding or not.

During your normal monthly breast self exams, you will see some discharge when you squeeze the nipple. If you start seeing any discharge that occurs without this exam, and have the following, please consult your doctor right away:

  • Leaking without squeezing
  • Leaking that occurs often (for those who are not currently breast feeding)
  • Leaking from one nipple more than the other, or just that one alone.
  • If the discharge contains any tint of pink or red indicating blood.
  • If it is clear or solid white in colour
  • If it appears like egg whites

There may be another cause for those women who see leaking from both nipples. These women have what is known as "galactorrhea". They have a harmless, tiny tumor in the brain that triggers a response for more milk producing hormones called prolactin. This tumor (or even tumors) do not require surgery to remove.

Always discuss any concerns you may have with your doctor. Tell him or her your symptoms, ask for a breast exam or mammogram if necessary. Let your doctor know if you are on any medications prescribed by other physicians. Some medications cause this, so read the pharmacy labels carefully.

*******Contrablue adds:

The previous contributor is correct, but it should be noted that cancer usually does NOT cause pain until it has reached an advanced stage.

The good news is: breast pain is usually NOT caused by cancer.

The bad news is: women still erroneously wait until their breasts hurt to check for cancer. Then it could be too late to achieve a cure.

Self examination and regular checkups should be the routine for every mature woman, and for all young woman with family history of breast cancer.

Anyone with breast pain of unknown origin should see their health care practitioner at earliest convenience -- not because of a cancer worry, but because more likely causes, like infection, can cause a world of hurt if they're allowed to fester.

Are you pregnant if a white discharge comes out of your nipples?

It can be a symptom, but it can be a symptom of other things. If you know you are pregnant, it's just probably your milk coming in. If you don't know or aren't sure, go see a doctor.

AnswerNot necessarily. If you have already had a pregnancy, it is possible for your body to produce milk. I thought I was pregant a few months ago because when I pressed on my breast it leaked white fluid, but I wasn't. However, it could be a sign. Take a test to be sure and see your doctor either way.

Answer

Milky like fluid coming out of you breasts can also be a sign of stress. I have had some fluid coming out of my breasts for almost 6 months now, and I have never had children nor have I been pregnant.

Why is there pain shooting under the right breast?

It can be normal or a sign of a problem. If it is mild, helped with Tylenol or ibuprofen and goes away after a few days I wouldn't worry about it.

If it is severe, worsening, not getting better or associated with other signs like swelling, redness, shortness of breath or fever then you should see a doctor.

Does someone know of an antiseptic nipple spray?

Sorry I can't help you now. I am searching for something similar for my daughter to use.
I was prescribed such a spray 30 years ago for my first child . It was a Godsend. I continued to use it for all of my children and never had sore nipples again.
I cannot recall its name or the make . I wish I knew why it has been taken off the market
I am exactly the same problem here - i think it was called chlorohexidine or something like that and it works better brilliantly unlike the creams.... Has it been taken off the market?

Further research online has made me recall brand name Rotersept and it was chlorhexidine gluconate - but it appears to have been withdrawn due to some babies reacting against it. Such a shame. It really did the job!

My age is 21 and i am unmarried girl. I am having pain in my breast and some turbid white liquids are coming from there if i press it What should i do with my breast?

Before I answer to yr query, can I ask one important question?

Had u ever allow someone to suck yr titts, especially giving excess pressure on the nipples? Second ques is ..what is yr bra-size?

If yr answer is 'yes', then discharging of turbid white liquids is a routine matter. In that case, u can also try to throw out white liquids by yr hands as & when u feels yr titts are about to discharge. The ideal time for this can be yr first morning taking bath. But u shd also take care that this should be done immediately after removing yr inner -wears..before getting shower or using soft-soap.

The best solution to yr problem in my opinion that u shd maintain a b.friend who shd hv thrust for breast-feeding. Trust me, if he sucks yr both boobs nicely..even once in a week, ur prob. can be solved to the max. level. This can be continued till yr marriage and after yr marriage, ask yr would be hubby to continue this practice.

All this I am furnishing to you based upon my own experience with my ex-g.friend who has band size of 36-38. I continued this for around two years, till she got married with a young businessman and now she is enjoying with her husband after becoming couple.

with best wishes

What would cause a woman's breasts to be extrememy sore other than monthly hormones?

Outside of hormonal changes around ovulation and menstruation, breast soreness could be due to pregnancy. Breast soreness can be common if your breasts are growing, if you're wearing the wrong size bra or without correct support, in some cases it can be due to issues such as cysts or in rare cases due to breast cancer. If this occurs regularly see your doctor to determine the cause of the soreness.
