There can be many reasons for sore breats..one of the reason can be change in hormone level(this is usually experienced during the start of your monthly periods), the change in harmone level can cause a little discomfort in breasts, taking of birth control pills can also cause sore breats, pregnancy, breast feeding can be some more reasons and ofcourse the very considerate reason could be breast cancer also..so be cautious and visit doctor if u have sore breasts

We don't. They get hard when it's cold or some women get hard nipples when they are aroused. Same reasons some men have it actually.

I'm 16 also 17 and lately i have been getting very sharp pains in one of my breasts. It comes on randomly and it's searing pain. It hurts so much that i curl in a little ball and cry. What do you think could be wrong? Should i go to the doctors about it?

Yes, you should see a doctor. Many things are possible, but one thing that comes to mind is muscle spasms due to nerve root impingement. Again, please see a doctor.

It is common to have the tender breasts before the menstruation. This is due to effect of the progesterone hormone. The tenderness will go away and you expect the menstruation next day. The tenderness persists during the pregnancy.

No breasts do not grow at the same rate. Everybody is different and when you have your breasts some body else may not have theirs. It's all about your genes and your weight. If your mom or dads mom has small breast it's likely that you will to. And if your overweight some f your extra body fat will go to your breasts.

Cold water and cold drinks can help. Many braces have a slight heat sensitivity to them and the cold will relax the metal and give some relief. Yes.. I have also notice that my teeth ache! also the wire and the bracket gets stuck to my lips too!!!! OMG OWWW

Well a twelve year old with swollen/tender breasts could just be growth from puberty but there shouldn't be a lump. You might should contact your doctor. During puberty this is normal but it could also be gyne but very unlikely to be gyne at age 12.

There are many possible answers ranging from muscle pain to pulmonary emboli to increased pressure on your liver. Most likely it is just sore muscles. If there are other more serious symptoms, go to your doctor

Lots of things,if you are on your period or you are about to start your period,if you hit it,if your breasts are growing,it could also be an infection and maybe cancer.If your breast hurts have it checked right away!Once,my left breast hurt really bad,it was red and sore.I went to a doctor and she told me I had an infection,she gave me some antibiotics and it was gone in a week,so go have it checked!Good luck! :)

The previous contributor is correct, but it should be noted that cancer usually does NOT cause pain until it has reached an advanced stage.


The good news is: breast pain is usually NOT caused by cancer.


The bad news is: women still erroneously wait until their breasts hurt to check for cancer. Then it could be too late to achieve a cure.


Self examination and regular checkups should be the routine for every mature woman, and for all young woman with family history of breast cancer.


Anyone with breast pain of unknown origin should see their health care practitioner at earliest convenience -- not because of a cancer worry, but because more likely causes, like infection, can cause a world of hurt if they're allowed to fester.

Start with your family doctor so you get a referral to a surgeon. Even if the surgery isn't purely cosmetic, a plastic surgeon generally handles breast reductions, aka reduction mammaplasty.

It can be normal or a sign of a problem. If it is mild, helped with Tylenol or ibuprofen and goes away after a few days I wouldn't worry about it.

If it is severe, worsening, not getting better or associated with other signs like swelling, redness, shortness of breath or fever then you should see a doctor.
