What is the cost of breast reduction?

Mine was covered by my mothers health insurance. I had the operation in Delta, BC Canada by a woman named Dr. Sproule. The pain was horrible at first but I was back to myself in about 2 weeks. Once you get past the first 2-3 days it's OK. I basically went to my family doctor, got a referral, saw Dr. Sproule, and that was that. I lied and sais I had major back pain, turns out a couple months before the surgery I started to actually have back pain. I was 17 at the time and am now 25. It was the best thing I have ever done. And besides the medium scarring they look fantastic. I was a DDD and now I'm a small D Cup due to being slightly overweight (145 lbs). Right after the surgery I was a C and they didn't move. It was like having implants. They were perfect. I didn't have feeling in the nipples for the first 6 months but it's all back to normal. I was told that I can also breast feed. There have been alot of advances to the operation since and now I think the procedure has minimal scarring and would be much less invasive. I also read somewhere to operation is about $5,500.

What can i do to stop my breast from growing?

workout the key is the more you weigh the bigger they will be the less you weigh, the smaller they will be. Also avoid food with hormones it normally says on the back package of the food. Also there was said to be a bra that makes your boobs look smaller, but might be kinda uncomfortable btw it all depends how much they have grown as well. Well good luck.

How can you make your breast stop sagging?

With pregnancies and age breasts begin to sag. The only sure way to raise your breasts is plastic surgery. But, you can make some improvement by:

  • Exercises -- Push-ups, and chest flys build pectoral muscles. As pecs get larger they push the breasts up and out making them appear higher. (Chest flys are where you lie on your back, holding a dumbbell in each hand extend your arms straight out above you. Lower them out to your sides, like wings, then return them to above you.)
  • Losing weight -- If your breasts are heavy, extra weight can make them sag. Losing weight can make them smaller and higher.
  • Drinking lots of water -- Dry skin looses it's elasticity. Water can increase its strength and elasticity. Drink at least two quarts of water a day.
The best thing is to prevent the problem in the first place, which is probably too late for you, but you can prevent further progress. A properly fitted bra (fitted by someone who knows what they are doing) will help. And, never jog, run, etc. without wearing a sports bra.

How long after a breast reduction can you work out?

Depends on what medicine you are taking, but usually about a week if you are lucky but I would be safe with two weeks.

Does being a vegetarian reduce your breast size?

Beef is known to be rich in zinc, especially its shank and chuck parts, and zinc has long been held to be an important nutrient for growing children and lack of zinc as a possible cause of lack of growth in children. Hence the idea that eating beef may aid a girl's breast growth. However, there are many food sources of zinc other than beef, and anyway increased consumption of zinc has not been shown to assist any form of growth except in cases where a child was suffering from a zinc deficiency.

How should my breast look after 4 weeks from breast reduction?

yes it is possible to have breast implants after just having breast reduction but there are many cautions to doing that. The technique of the breast reduction will guide your plastic surgeon regarding the safest access to place the implants through.

How much weight can you lose from a breast reduction?

Probably. Breasts are mostly fat tissue, and having excess body fat can affect breast size.

if you REALLY want to lose them (and i don't see a good reason why to unless you have back problems) then just do pushups and when you grow up some more bench, so you just get regular pectorials and not just breasts. sharper image, i believe, even sells a separate exercise machine named "the love handler" which gets rid of love handles, or breasts. good luck with that!

Does breast reduction ease back pain?

As with any surgery, there will be some initial pain and then some discomfort for sometime after that. However, I've heard from people who have had it done that it has really improved their lives and was worth the trouble, special bras and so on.

What kind of exercises can reduce the size of breasts?

Answer

Here are suggestions from WikiAnswers community members:

  • Normal push ups help to get rid of "man boobs"
  • Try taking dunb bells and laying down and putting them back behind your head and then pulling them up. If you're doing it right you can feel it in your chest.
  • Doing push-ups is the way to. You can feel it in your chest area.
  • "Man Boobs" are mostly fat so dieting is the best way to get rid of them. However, push ups and other chest exercises are also helpful. Sometimes man breasts are a result of previous drug (specifically heroin) and alcohol use. It's always a good idea to ask your primary health care provider.
  • Definitely push-ups: push up from the table.
In general, wt loss is the way to get rid of excess body fat...However, some men have gynocomastia which is actually breast tissue and not just fat...check and see if you can feel hard tissue or fiberous tissue in your "man boobs" if so, you may need to have these removed surgically. If you are under the age of 18 they may still regress on their own.

How can you reduce the size of your breasts?

Excercise like you normally would. Even if you target a specific place, it will not help. Might as well work a place with little fat, such as the shoulders, to add muscle which will burrn fat.

How long does it take dissolvable stitches to dissolve after breast reduction surgery?

Dissolvable stitches usually start to degenerate a week after your operation and then continue to do so. Once you are allowed to bathe then soaking them in a bath will speed up the process BUT remember they are there to stop the wound reopening and getting infections. If they haven't disappeared after 4 weeks visit your doctor to see if he will remove them.

What type of bra to wear after breast reduction surgery?

I just had shoulder surgery after a few shoulder dislocations. I'm a little too busty (between C/D) to go weeks without a bra, so I have some advice about when you can get into a bra and some options until then.

When you come home with your shoulder bandage, it's big enough and you're sensitive enough to pain that you don't want to mess with any kind of straps for a week or so. I bought a few tube top type shirts (not the 80's tiny style, but the kind that's a nice cotton and hangs a cute length with jeans, etc.). I wore it with my pj bottoms. I could pull it up over my hips with my good arm after stepping into it. If you have someone to help you, that's even better. I found them comfortable to sleep in, and they could pass for a real shirt when you're in public. I could put a little jacket on my good arm and draped over my arm in the sling so that it didn't look too obscene. The sling also hides the fact that you're not wearing a bra.

After 10 days or so when the stitches are out, I felt comfortable pulling up little tanks with built in shelf bras. I would wiggle the shirt up and put my sore arm under the strap first then the good arm. I could also put on button up shirts and loose jackets that I could wear to work, and then put the sling on over that. I also bought a strapless bra that I could fasten in the front around my waist and then wiggle it around to fit. I could pull a stretchy tshirt over my hips after about 2 weeks and get it on my bad arm and then my good arm much like I was doing with the tanks with straps. Any kind of shirt definitely has to be stretchy enough because you can't really get your arm behind you to wiggle into anything because of the pain.

You can wear a real bra after a few weeks if you have someone to help you, but if you're getting in and out of it yourself, it's about 6 weeks before you can do it without the pain being too much of an issue.

Also, have a plan for your hair. The shorter and straighter hair the better. I have long hair and could wash it with one hand, but would leave it to dry on it's own. Washing and showering takes so much energy, you're exhausted by the time you need to style your hair (and you only have one hand to do it). Also, ponytails are harder than you think. You can't reach up to your neck for a few weeks.

Can smoking make your breasts smaller?

Yes. It passes into the breast milk thus entering the baby's system once s/he drinks it. Marijuana can negatively impact the baby's growth & development, such as slow weight gain and decreased motor development. Long term effects on infants are not well known. I would not advise using marijuana while breastfeeding or caring for a child in general as marijuana affects judgment and perception.
