How do you check the transmission fluid in a 96 eldorado?
I think the transmission on XK8s are sealed and you cannot add fluid, therefore you do not need to check it.
Paul
There is actually a normal fill tube to the transmission, but has a cap on the end instead of a dipstick. You can potentially add fluid but there is no dipstick.
Dipsticks are available (expensive) however. I own a 2002 XKR
PPC2006
There is no fill tube on either the 5HP24 (1996-2002) or 6HP26 (2003-2006) transmissions. They are both "sealed for death". By changing your transmission fluid you will prolong the life of the transmission. Jaguar only offered a 50,000 mile warranty, so they stand to benefit if your transmission conks out at 90,000 miles. The car has to be up on a lift (or at least on 4 tall jack stands) to check the fluid level or to add more fluid. Plus, the engine has to be running. You check the fluid level from the fill plug, and the plug is right next to the exhaust pipe which gets very hot. If you turn off the engine during the procedure, about 5 liters of fluid will drain out of the fill plug. Here's a video which shows the process for changing the fluid and pan on a 2003 transmission. The procedure is essentially the same for the 2002 and earlier cars, but there are some slight differences in the transmission internally. If all you care about is checking the fluid level, just skip to the last few minutes of the video.

How do you remove the radio on an 1991 Eldorado radio?
I have been trying to do that a while ago as someone told me there to just take the clips off with a flat head screwdriver
however, it didnt work but underneath the wheel there are small screws that u need to remove or something, i have a feeling the answer is there.
Basically what I know is that if you manage to remove that big wood cover, you will be able to remove the radio easily and I have a feeling that the big cover is attached to the pad under the wheel.
Hope i helped
there are about 5 screws, these have the wierd star heads on them so you need the right screw driver. All the way to the left on the wood cover you'll find one in the AC vent. Just turn it so you see the screw head or remove the moving vent (turn and pull out). Two more above the dash, bring steering wheel all the way down for easier access, same size on all screws. Pull cover above radio (all across the top of the radio). where you'll find one or two more.
pull wooden cover off and you'll see the radio exposed. Underneath the radio are two nuts that you'll have to loosen but not all the way off. pull radio out.
two large connectors on the back plus the antenna wire
goes back in reverse order....
Where is the throttle position sensor located on a 1994 Cadillac Eldorado?
Remove the air cleaner and the air supply from the top of the throttle body. Have someone step inside the vehicle and slowly press and release the throttle while the engine is off. Watch to see what moves. The throttle butterfly is operated by the cable from the accelerator pedal. Notice that the cable goes over a sprocket that moves the throttle. On the OPPOSITE side of the throttle body should be a black plastic thingy with wires connected. THAT's the throttle body.
