Why do you not use a a slide rule anymore?

The reason most people do not use slide rules is that pocket calculators are just as fast, intuitively more obvious, and more accurate. Nonetheless, actually, I do use a slide rule. But I only do this to show off. It looks sort of magical to the uninitiated.

How do you calculate gorsspay?

There is no English word "gorsspay," so this question does not have an answer. The best I can figure is that you are asking about "Gross Pay." If that is the case, then you just look at your pay stub to see the total amount of pay you received before deductions. If you are paid by the hour, let us say $12.00 per hour, work 40 hours, and have no other benefit payments, your Gross Pay is:

$12.00 per hour x 40 hours = $480.00.

How do you punch in one-third on a scientific calculator?

0.33333333333333333333333333333

The number of 3's is irrelevant, just type in as many as allows.

Or do 1/3, and that will also give you 0.333333333

or enter 3 and then press the 1/x (reciprocal) key

How do you get the coordinate image to show up on a TI-83 after entering the coordinates?

From your question I believe you are not seeing the coordinate position of the cursor at all. The only way for this to happen on a Ti-83 or 84 is for the coordinate values to specifically have been turned off. To turn them back on, follow these steps:

  • Press [2ND] [FORMAT] (the zoom button)
  • Move the cursor to CoordOn and press [ENTER]
  • Press [Graph] and move the cursor

You should now see the coordinate appear, giving the current location of the cursor.

How do you solve percentage problem without calculator?

Perform long division between the two terms you are trying to figure out with pencil and paper.

As an example: If you are trying to figure out what percentage of 20, 17 is, you divide the two (17/20) which is approximately .85. Then multiply by 100 (move the decimal 2 places to the right) 85%
